I like the schedule. Being positive and thinking we will be undefeated heading into the bye week.
Still think Seattle easily gets #1 seed though

What? fricking no way. Have you seen their schedule? Not this year. They will definitley contend, but I think schedule and maybe a few key injuries will keep them out.

Meh, they didn't lose much this offseason. I just can't see more then 3 losses for them.
Of course injuries could change that as you noted

In interdivision play yes you rotate, but it doesn't always workout that way on the schedule.

?? The NFL doesn't pick the home/away games or the opponents every year. It is based on rotations

its pretty terrible for the fans though. we get 2 games in the first 7. no 3 oclock (right now). only 2 primetime games out of the 5. the last stretch is every other week. just not a "fun" schedule as a fan. the best month is easily november though.

It seems like a schedule that sets us up for early success and then hits us with a sock full of nickles the last half of the season.

What's bad about that? Maximum drunkenness attainable.

wouldnt maximum drunkness be attainable if we HAD a 3 oclock game? thats why im saying it sucks. i always like getting down there and having more time to drink before a game.

I see your point. I start earlier for a noon game, but I'm a couchtator.

Then why are we getting SF at home again??

14 games are rotational (our division(6) plus 2 other divisions(8)).

That leaves two which are assigned by the NFL. These two games are generally used to promote parity, ie the NFL giving last seasons good teams two extra tough games to weigh them down and last seasons bad teams two easier games to lift them up. Also it can be used for old rivalries like Saints vs Dallas is.

isnt this because the panthers won the division? Dallas and SF are the two "randoms" from the NFC. SF had the better record and we didnt win the division so we get the "better" team at home. at least thats how i see it. i think if we had won the division we would be playing at SF and have dallas at home

Because Drew's contract with Wrangler prohibits him from playing at Levi Stadium. It's common knowledge.

The home/away for the same place finish teams in your conference from the division you don't face is also set.

It just works out that we tied with San Fran in the place we finished on the right years, while we keep tying the Bears on the wrong years.

Edit:
And they aren't random. If we finish second, we play the other two second place teams.

If we would have won the division we would be playing Seattle(at home) and Philly(on the road).

You and your 3 o'clock games. BAH!

I hate the 3pm games, but I brought it up before that they can flex games to 3pm also, and it happened to us twice last year. I think both were loses(Rams and second Panthers game(?)).

Edit:
Rams and second Bucs game. So one win and one loss.

Not sure if this has been posted yet or not, but one fricked up thing I hate about this schedule is the fact that we're playing Cincy after they come off of a Thursday night game (basically a mini bye), Chicago coming off a Thursday/mini bye and we play Baltimore and Pittsburgh coming off their byes.
