they signed two more, that will help the defense.
Spend more time on your draft evaluations.

I am sure the entire NFL thought the same thing about a grocery bagging/NFL Europe QB that had to fill in for Trent Green.

There is a reason they are in CFL to begin with.

Everyone stopped draft evaluations to sign these two CFL players. The contracts were that complicated.

Our best acquisition in 3 years was from the CFL.

The Saints arent going to win with the trash players they draft either.

As long as Loomis or whoever is running the talent evaluation show is in charge, I'm only comfortable with trading our draft picks for established players.

Delvin Breaux seems to be doing alright..

I think it is worth taking a shot on the 2015 Defensive Player of the Year in the CFL (Adam Bighill).

Do you not understand how these early offseason signings work? Most of these guys don't even make it to training camp.

I am having difficulty remembering how Erik Harris did. I remember him being ok as a reserve safety before having the plug pulled on his 2016 NFL rookie year. For a team lacking quality depth at many different positions I do not see how taking fliers on anyone with upside can be viewed as a bad thing.

He got hurt and missed 75% of the season.

He will be a solid special teams player and might have got some significant PT after Kenny got suspended.

Like Byrd and Browner?

We've done a much better job drafting since Ireland was brought in

And there are a reason players go undrafted or fall in the draft too, but the league is littered with guys who have excelled in those positions.

You're mad about doing due diligence and looking everywhere for talent. We have a training camp roster to fill. You look for potential prospects and hope a few out of the 30+ guys we bring in that won't make the team turns out to be NFL quality.

He wasn't there for being a bad football player, though

There isnt a player in the CFL who is there for "being a bad football player" lol. Thats an odd scouting mandate.

Amen. Talent can be found anywhere. Not every successful NFL player goes the road through being a high draft pick to NFL All Pro. Some guys, for various reasons, have to take the long, hard road. Remember this guy?

He went from bagging groceries, to the arena league, to being a camp body, to league MVP & Super Bowl MVP to now waiting on his turn for the Hall of Fame.
