Let it be McCaffery.... At least he tested clean and hasn't raped anyone yet ... Plus he'd be great in Payton's system.

Before Peterson maybe. But with 350 to 400 carries going to them I would rather have Howard or defense

nope, you still take CM if he is there because AP is a 1 year RB "maybe" one more year just as a 3rd down back to spell our regular work horses.

for some reason people think AP is some sort of solution but forget AP is 32 years old. he only has one or 2 years left and you need to replace him so he is just a temporary stop gap

I'll just repurpose my previous post...

Wrong. The Saints have one glaring need, and that's PASS RUSH. One of Barnett, Reddick, McKinley, or even Charlton will be available at 11. Stats tell us at least one of those becomes a star. No guarantee we get the right one, but we definitely won't if we do something stupid like draft a satellite back at 11, someone who will play a few downs on each offensive series while our D gives up 40. Payton already said he sees Mccaffrey in the "joker" role, not an every down back. You don't draft that at 11 - that's why Reggie was a disappointment despite his success at that role, and why we dumped him when he still had some value. You think McCaffrey is a better prospect than Reggie Bush was?! Hell, I'm OK with picking edge rushers at 11 AND 32, we can save the CB pick for 42. Mccaffrey will be a fun pick for your fantasy football team, he'd be a wasted opportunity for the Saints.

I guess I'd consider taking McCaffrey at 32. We really don't have an immediate need at RB this year though

I'd take one if we got great value, but we can always take one in the 1st or 2nd next year. Personally, I think it would be a huge mistake to take McCaffrey at 11. I just don't think he's as good as everyone else on this board thinks he is. Unless you think he's the 2nd coming of Marshall Faulk(which I don't)...you have to pass imo.

McCaffrey won't be there at 32. Good chance he might not even be there at 11.

Best rush DE available: Barnett, Harris, etc.?

Best CB available at 32: White?

Best LB available at 42.

Hopefully he's not. I'd rather another player drop to us.

I'm just saying where I'd consider taking him. I wouldn't even give up a pick to trade up from 32. You're probably right though.

I was only addressing the point mentioned saying that we didn't need a RB just because we signed AP

yes I think its a reach to take CM at 11 but im not sure if he isn't BPA depending on the projected defensive players going early. if no QB are taken he could be the highest graded player on the board at 11.

we all hope not or its slim pickings for us to find the DE starters we need but, it will be what it will be.

thank god this time thursday we will finally have the 2018 mock drafts being started at we can talk about that

Saints have finished #31, #32 and #28 in ppg allowed the last 3 seasons and half of ST is knighting for a 3rd down back at #11 and a QB project at #32. Good times.

No. You take a pass rusher here and wait for Guice next year.

I'd say it's gotta be best CB or DE at 11 and then the same at 32.

Hopefully 42 is another defensive pick as well.

IDK, His sack numbers were a little less than I would have like to have seen at the collage level. I'm concerned his game won't translate well to the NFL and getting around 300+LB tackles and getting to the QB will be a problem for him.

I think they'll try and nab Derek Barnett (hopefully) or Taco Charlton.

If not one of them, they'll look for one of the CBs from Ohio State.

It is stupid to lock in on a certain position at any point in the draft
