Fred Thomas was actually pretty good most of his career as a Saint. You're prob a typical bandwagoner, calling him burnt toast

Since my first game in 1986 when I was 8. Thanks though.

And, for the record, he's extra crispy toast.

I am gonna catch a lot of flack for this but I am gonna say Aaron Brooks, throw all the stones ya want but in the early 2000's we liked this kid and he gave us out first playoff win and he was a 4th quarter touchdown throwing machine. I know he became another player after that but I will never forget how good he began his career.

To reject what you don't understand is the most pitiful human error.

Fred Thomas was considered one of our best signings back in 2000 when we rebuilt the roster. he gave us 5-6 solid years, you're an idiot.

Agreed, because I never liked him. Jeff Blake was 6-1 as a starter when he got hurt, Im not counting the game we lost when Aaron came in to replace him... Brooks finished 4-4 and I never understood why so much love was given to him nor why he got that 6 mil a year deal.

He didn't start the Oakland game so it was 4-3. He played insane games against San Fran and St. Louis twice. In the 3 losses the defense got absolutely shredded as well Mike Anderson, Marshall Faulk, and Randy Moss all went wild. I don't think any of those losses were his fault. He looked to have a world of promise and he mostly delivered the numbers but the consistent wins never came.

Granted, but I'm using the toast metaphor to describe his play vs Chicago. There's nothing wrong with saying a player sucked in a particular game. Too bad you're too thin skinned to accept that.

And I did pick him as an underappreciated Saint because he had those good years....idiot.

I could be wrong but I remember that Oakland game not really being close for either of the QBs.

HC Jim Mora is the most underappreciated Saint of all time. What he was able to do with rising this franchise from the depths of endless losing, to winning and competing against the likes of the 49ers, Giants, Redskins in the mid-late 80's, is remarkable. Especially considering he didn't have Free Agency as it exists today. It was all who you drafted or free agents you signed off the street or the very infrequent trade. He just happened to be in the same division as the greatest coach of all time in Bill Walsh, and the best QB in his day Joe. Mora's turnaround of the Saints might be a better job than what Payton has done. Payton had much more to work with imo. Payton won the Superbowl, so many will still think he did a better job, but that just reinforces my argument for Mora as the most underappreciated Saint of all time.

yeah I have to go with Aaron Brooks here. It sure was fun during his first 2 seasons to watch him tuck the ball and run for a huge first down on 3rd and long.

Every one of us thought that we had a young Randall Cunningham for a couple of years. I really liked him and was just shocked at how it fell apart.
