Which is why the HC position and the play caller should be 2 separate people.

I'm not sure it would have made a difference here. It just took too much time to verify that Ingram didn't get in. The play clock would have been wound down regardless. It happens across the league on a weekly basis in both college & the pros.

Can we be real?

How do we even know who is calling plays?

If I remember right, the play call was late getting in because Payton was looking at the replay & asking for help upstairs to see if Ingram had gotten in on the play before. The play clock was running down & they had to call a timeout. Yeah it was fricked up but what were the other options? Should Payton have not even checked to see Ingram got in on the play before?

call in a play as if he didnt make it while your team looks to see if he did?

Those are head coaching white sheets.
And the shite he's talking is head coaching stuff.

Payton definitely had a play sheet yesterday & looked to be calling the plays. It could be a tag team effort where there is input from both but who knows for sure.

Go no huddle and punch it in like the Eagles did vs the Falcons

Throw the challenge flag immediately. Penalty is a lost challenge and a timeout. Saves you at least 40 seconds

Basically anything but what we did down 2 scores in the 4th

You call the play in immediately and throw the challenge flag if you need to. That should be secondary when you're at the 1.

It was incredibly stupid. Time was our biggest enemy

All scoring chances are reviewed automatically so maybe Payton was waiting for an offical stoppage of the clock to review Ingram's run in order to save a timeout.
