That 3rd and 20 completion to Ginn late in the game...

Anybody else just blown away by that? It really gave me those 2009, "This team ain't losing to anybody" feelings.
The magnitude of converting there... just wow.
Pittsburgh is a talented team that was playing for their lives. Antonio Brown looked like a demigod out there. It was a fantastic football game to watch all around even if I spent a large portion of it fully puckered.
But man, that play stands out the most to me.
We are watching something special.

Especially after what was such a deflating, momentum killing drop the play before. To shake that off and get 20+ the next play was

Right? Kirkwood's reaction after that drop said it all. I thought we were fricked.
He better be taking Ginn out to dinner tonight

This was the throw that IMHO gives Brees the MVP.

Yeah it happened so quickly I wasn’t even done yelling cuss words at kirkwood

2nd and 20 was one of Brees' best throws of the year. Sidestepped defenders in a collapsing pocket and hit Kirkwood square in the numbers. Friggin shame it was dropped or it'd be on ESPN.

Watching it in real time right in front of me the call had some serious zip on it. I said to my brother right after that’s some prime drew brees right there. The throw he made to Ben Watson earlier in the game was also money...crazy to think people talk about him being finished and wanted to trade him at one point.

That 3rd and 20 conversion on the game-winning drive might prove to be his MVP moment.
With that said, the real difference in the game was just 3 points and that Brees-Kamara big play on the :40 second drive that put them in FG range before the half cannot be mentioned enough.

same here. but shite penalties and non positive yards per play are drive killers. the odds were stacked heavily against us to convert a damn 3rd and 20
it would have been a 3rd and short had kirkwood pulled his head out his arse. however we did not get any positive yards on 1st down either. we need positive yards every play.

I thought about it often today. It was beautiful!

It was the kind of play you expect them to convert against us but not vice-versa.
I’m in love with how we turned such a serial Saint killer into one of our best weapons

Yeah I threw something when he dropped that pass. I hadn’t thrown anything all year either.

I kinda got the same vibe when the Saints stuffed the fake punt. It actually wasn't a bad call and if Craig Robertson doesn't make a great play, they easily get the first down there.

I thought we were done. Who converts a 3rd and 20?

Exactly...especially how Big Ben was playing...I haven't seen him play like that since his 500+ yard 6 TD performance...

it looked bleak after the drop by kirkwood

we had to at least get 10 yards there. give us a last chance on 4th and 10. luckily we got it on 3rd.

To be honest I wasn't really surprised, that is just what Drew does. If funny how spoiled we are by his greatness

It's a big "SCREW YOU" to the fans that keep saying Brees isn't capable anymore.
