I hope all this Taco talk is just smoke....The guy is not a PASS RUSHER he is a solid defensive end that does well against the run and can get up field.

We need a fricking PASS RUSHER. A guy with speed and moves that you have pin his fricking ears back and go get the QB on every passing down.

If Charlton is so good why did he only start 1 year? I don't recall an all pro starting over him the past few years? I think 11 is a reach on him. He is an 18 to 25 pick in my opinion. If Foster is there at 11 I don't know how they pass on him. Other than Vilma we haven't had an elite LB in 20+years. If we all want a sure thing at 11 it has to be an offensive player, that's the only thing Payton and Loomis draft well. Payton knows exactly what he can do with offensive players, they can't can't evaluate defensive talent.

If Barnett and Foster are gone I think that means Hooker, Lattimore, or Adams will fall to us.

I was pretty sure Foster was going to Cincy, but with them signing Minter I don't know now. I think Foster is a once in a decade type LB, you don't pass on those guys.

Then why did they spend $20M on two ILBs just to draft another one?

If that's the thinking why go pass rusher? We have about 47mil tied up in pass rushers.

LB is a need so is pass rusher. It's pretty apparent they have moved on from Anthony, Te'o seems to be injury prone and are we sure Klein is going to be the answer? Hell we signed Laurinaitis last year, how did that work out?

They gave Klein 15 million. They signed Teo. They have Robertson who was pretty good.

They aren't drafting someone to start at MLB. If they draft someone like Reddick or Foster, it's to play Will.

You guys make as if these first round picks are gold. Truth is half of the first round picks in this class will not be on an active roster in 3 years and the last sure thing in the draft was Andrew Luck and those come once in a decade. He would not be a bad pick neither would Barnett but hopefully they draft a need and hit on whoever they draft.

ummmm.....no when you have the 11th pick in the draft you better nab a starter and a difference maker for years to come

Yeah that is the goal but some players don't live up to expectations or get hurt. I see people comparing these players as if they know who will end up being all pro and the others that will bust when in reality they are all talented enough prospects to play in the NFL but some will not pan out for one reason or another. Out of Myles Garrett, Solomon Thomas, Taco Charlton, and Derek Barnett odds are at least one will bust and another will underperform. The Saints are probably looking at the draft board and interviewing Charlton because he will most likely be there. This is a deep DE class and many teams have that as a top need including us. I am sure they will do more interviews with others before the draft.

2016: Vernon Hargreaves III - average for now
2015: Trae Waynes - above average
2014: Taylor Lewan - elite
2013: DJ Fluker - good, then bad, and now 'prove it'
2012: Dontari Poe - good, then bad, and now 'prove it'
2011: JJ Watt - elite
2010: Anthony Davis - above average, retired
2009: Aaron Maybin - bust
2008: Leodis McKelvin - average
2007: Patrick Willis - elite
2006: Jay Cutler - above average

So in the last 11: 3 elite, 3 above average, 2 average, 2 "prove its" almost out, and 1 bust

I doubt we do.

Either Solomon Thomas, Barnett, or Taco should make it to #11. I think there's a higher chance that 2 make it to us, than there is of none making it to us.

I'm higher on Barnett, but I guess I wouldn't complain about Taco at #11 if the coaches are convinced. I'm not completely sold on him yet though.

For all we know...the coaches might like Willis/Charles Harris at #32 more than Barnett/Taco at #11.

God damn it where do you fricks get your information?

A quick google search would prove this false. Quit spreading this dumb shite. Most scouts love Taco and his potential as a pass rusher. He had 10 this year as a junior. He is already a good pass rusher but could be great.

His problem is stopping the run, he doesn't know how to drop his anchor, break down and find the RB. If anything your statement about him is the complete opposite. He loves football but he's been inconsistent before his last year at Michigan.

Sure he might not be worthy at 11 but unless they can trade back you have to take him or Barnett

True and I wouldn't mind Willis or Harris at 32, allowing us to go BPA at 11. But I doubt we have 32.

Someone called Taco will never amount to anything in this league.
