Yes, the offense was hit or miss. Yes, Payton had some bad calls.

Yes to all of that. It’s a long game with a bunch of plays

BUT THE GAME WAS OVER, despite all of the negative.

That call literally took the Super Bowl spot from us

It’s not whining, it’s fact.

How did the saints get into position for the refs to rape them after they had a 13 point lead?

Yep. No one is even arguing that it was a missed call, including the league.

Throw the flag... you can always pick it up.

And they even had helmet to helmet they could have “conferred” on to bail out the no call PI.

They didn’t want to. They had their objectives. Simply stunning.

Agreed.

All the other stuff is irrelevant. The Saints fought hard to be in this position to secure it and the refs rob them of a win.

I just posted in another thread about this saying that it nothing else in that game mattered more that the no call. I don’t care how bad either team had played or made bad calls, the fact is if that easy arse call had been made , we would get a breeze - Brady Super Bowl . Those poor Saints players were robbed and I hope that all know that they now have a place in all true Saints fans hearts. I’m done with the NFL but I wish the Saints the best.

They did the same thing to LSU in the Texas A&M game.

I think the bad play calling leading up to that played a factor. Had it been 3rd and short I think it gets called. It's hard to throw a flag on third and long for an automatic first. The refs have been bitched at all year for doing just that.

Agree 100%.

Our team made a play. We put ourselves in position with a play call the rams couldn’t legally defend. Never was there more of an obvious call that had to be made. Playing at home with the whole crowd yelling and we still couldn’t get a call. It was so obvious that every pundit says they could tell during live action. It was horrible.

Not all calls are made equally. If it’s in the first quarter you have the whole game left but at that moment it’s a call that wins the game. It wins it. 3 plays and a chip shot fg. There’s no consolation for this. We should have paid enough penance after last year’s miracle loss. We deserved that call not just because of last year but because it was the most obvious call ever and wasn’t.

No fan of any team (outside of Rams fans) should minimize it. It’s inexcusable the refs can ruin your season for you.

The previous drive ends in at least 3 and we have a 2 possession game if they call the hold...we're forgetting this was TWO calls, not one

Ya know, I usually say the ref’s calls balance out over the course of a game, but two obvious missed pass interference calls today were the difference - never should have been an OT imo

Right. It’s a spot 1st and half the distance.

It’s 1st and goal. 1:40ish and rams with 1 time out. The saints can run off at least 1:15ish and kick the game winner.
