READ. I'm not talking overall, anywhere in the field. But SHORT yardage. I.e. 2nd and goal from the 4. He gets stood up a lot.

So he gets pancaked by corners in short yardage situations?

How about you read all the facts I posted and actually back up your argument cupcake

Another interesting look:

Football outsiders has Ingram as the 4th highest success rate in the nfl per carry

quote:

The final statistic is Success Rate. This number represents the player's consistency, measured by successful running plays (the definition of success being different based on down and distance) divided by total running plays. A player with higher DVOA and a low success rate mixes long runs with downs getting stuffed at the line of scrimmage. A player with lower DVOA and a high success rate generally gets the yards needed, but doesn't often get more. Success Rate is further explained here. It is not adjusted for opponent.

He's 9th in DVOA and 4th in success rate = "A player with lower DVOA and a high success rate generally gets the yards needed"

I wish Payton and company would finally cut him so we can move on to a real workhorse back.

Like there's going to be a workhorse RB in this offense with Payton as HC.

only reason why you are judging him from this one moment is because most of you are LSU fans

It's not like that here. Saints fans are NFL fans. With some exceptions, they look down on college fans and hate the biased retoric that LSU fans bring to their page. They pretty much treat us like shite here. SaintsTalk is their page, we know we are guest here.

I'm an LSU fan, I'm also a Saints fan.

That one moment only tells me that he wants to compete and score touchdowns. I was baffled why they pulled out the more powerful and better runner to run the play they did.

Ingram did not light the world on fire his first 2 years but since then has been solid or better. This year he is averaging over 5 yards per carry.

Most people's assessment of Ingram that I read remind me how little people really know about football.

I've heard people say they think Hightower is a better runner than Ingram. There is not one single metric I can find that suggests this is true.

Oh boy, here cone all the ypc statists to blow up that statement. You are not allowed to give eyeball based assessments on this board.

Right, because the eyeball test is clearly objective while the ypc test clearly allows for the viewer's bias to come into play.

I will say that the ypc test in a small sample size can be misleading but in Ingram's case, his sample size for his career indicates he is a very good back who is trending upward. I do expect time and the pounding to catch up soon, though.

How's he's overrated for most people do not consider to be an elite RB? He's not horrible nor is he great, he's a decent RB.

Ingram just broke 4 tackles on his way to the end zone.

Who's the fricking moron bitching about yards after contact?

People are so stupid

My love for the saints trumps my hate for bama.. I want Ingram to succeed, it's easy for us to sit here and say that his rant was selfish IMO but I just feel like he got caught in the heat of the moment. It is what it is

I will say this about him: I have a friend who works for he saints and knows him pretty well.. he told me he's a good dude and the team loves Ingram (CSP included)
