I'd love it if these picks actually happened for the Saints. Lawson may be there at #12, but I don't think Doctson will last to #47.

quote:

12. New Orleans (7-9) – Shaq Lawson, DE, Clemson, Jr.

The Saints defense was simply awful, specifically because they were unable to generate any meaningful pressure on opposing quarterbacks. Lawson, a first-team AP All-American, led the nation with 23.5 tackles for a loss and tied for 11th with 10.5 sacks. Top needs: WR, OL, pass rusher

47. New Orleans – Josh Doctson, WR, TCU, Sr.

At least they get our needs right. I'd love Lawson or Robinson at 12. Still like a guard in the 2nd.

Lots of good guards in this draft that should start going off the board late in round 2. May still be a good one where we pick in round 3.

I'd be happy with this course of events. I doubt Doctson falls to 47 though.

This. You can almost always get a good player at that position in the third round.

I'll take it! We'll probably draft a linebacker from Stoney Brook with a "big upside."

Lawson is the sexy pic. But you know how the Saints pull guys out of their asses that you never heard of. You can never guess who they have their eyes on. The only given that I can remember was Mark Ingram.

Picking a LB at 31 and or 44 last year was pretty popular

We need an explosive front 7 player. I don't see that in the BAMA DE. Jack or Lawson would be my picks.

As good as Cam Jordan is, I don't want another Cam - we need Junior Gallette who can play the run a bit better and doesn't have a brain of a Down's syndrome child.
