@nick_underhill: Can confirm the Saints are voiding Galette's money, as @MikeGarafolo reported. Team is claiming Galette violated "Rep & Warranty language"

@nick_underhill: Saints are claiming Galette voided the guarantee on his $1.25M base salary, per @MikeGarafolo. Asked for comment, Saints say no comment

1.25 is better than nothing I guess.

I think we'd still have the dead money from the signing bonus + roster bonus.

I have a feeling we're coming after the roster bonus. We probably won't win, but is could be fun

We turned the roster bonus into a signing bonus. Doubt we get any of that back.

They'll spend $2 mil in attorney fees to chase $1.25 mil.

As long as that 2 million doesn't count against the cap, I'm good with it.

This is awesome.

But didn't the Patriots not even get a cent back from Hernandez? If they didn't I don't see us getting anything.

They aren't giving that back. That's such a conniving and bullshite tactic that they won't even allow that simply for precedent.

NOLA had an article about this yesterday indicating that the team is not considering going after the money that has already been paid out, they are just refusing to pay him any additional money bc of his offfield issues. I just can't recall if that was from a source or speculation from the writer.

As long as it takes money out of Junior's pocket, fine by me.

Next year's hit is all bonus money that has been paid out. We won't get that back or the bonus money from this year.

They are going after the guaranteed portion of his base salary for this year that has yet to be paid out and they have a decent shot of getting it given the video that surfaced.

Problem is this will likely be held up in appeals for a couple of years.

I don't think so. From what I can tell the 2016 $5M base salary would not become fully guaranteed until the 3rd league day.
