I'm just saying, compare this with other drafts.
He's a fifth round rookie playing in every game.
To be fair we also have 3 UDFA and a 6th rd rookie getting run on the D-line. Since we just said frick it at some positions this season it skews things.

If they would just pay me half of mickey's salary, I'd turn this team into a superbowl contender.

Honestly, what happened to Hicks in year 2 and 3. He looked like the second coming of Warren Sapp in his first year. Then he disappeared.
If Hicks ends up playing lights out in NE, similar to what M Jenkins and Roman Harper did when they left, then it's obvious that the Saints have a tremendous coaching problem.

From all of the players selected in the 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014 drafts, the Saints have 6 players left on their roster.
2011 - Jordan, Ingram
2012-
2013- Vaccaro, Armstead, Jenkins
2014- Cooks
And that's how a top 5 QB's prime years get wasted.

Unless this guy is the next Jimmy Graham, this makes no sense at all.

3 games in and I never heard his name called or even knew if he was in the game at all.
Coaches bench the guy for a rookie.
Board is perplexed and at a loss as to why he is gone.
Seems the answer is there but some just don't want to see it.

Not really. But, for a TE? This defense sucks so let's trade a defensive player for a TE?

0-3
The whole team sucks.

I don't really understand the trade, I'll be honest. I think the Saints giving up on Akiem Hicks says a lot about Rob Ryan than it does Hicks. I'm going to sound like the scum of the board when I say this, but I wouldn't be surprised if Hicks makes himself a nice career in New England.

I tend to think its not just his play but his attitude and commitment to the team at this point.

Which is strange, right? Why are we losing players for that reason? Is it the players or is it the coaches or is it both? I commend the Saints for taking out the trash if that's the case, but why so much trash lately?

quite possibly. sometimes talented but bad players do well on other teams. BillBell is the best coach in the league (and quite possibly the history of the game), and he can get the best out of players. Though he did fail at points with other players in the same boat, so it's not absolute.

here's some analysis to put it all into perspective:

Like the idea of DL Akiem Hicks and his size/long arms to #Patriots, but his tape this season is bad. Really bad. Not gonna fly with BB.

Carl Nicks syndrome. Nicks fell in the draft for character reasons, and the Saints hit a homerun with drafting him. They have made it a mission to take talented guys that fell in the draft due to injury or character concerns, and it has bit them right back in the arse. Most bad character guys don't succeed, because they don't have the maturity or dedication required to maximize their talent. That is why this draft yielded the Kikahas, because the team has realized their mistakes and has focused on the exact opposite approach.

It's been deleted since. But, frick Jimmy Graham. Dude probably wouldn't be in the league right now if he was drafted any other team but the Saints, and maybe a of handful others.

The offense has been worst than the defense this year a lot of the time.

Defense has been doing everything they can possibly do to keep us in the game with the plethora of injuries and lack of a pass rush.
They have caused turnovers and kept games close for majority of the game, then the offense refuses to score.

Goodell screwed us and Paytons year off destroyed our team. I have to wonder if they all went insane.
