Saints should trade a 1 and 4 for Garoppolo

Brees career is coming to a close and you cannot win without an elite qb. This guy will be elite. We have money to sign free agents and I would give a 1 to sure up the qb position for another 10 years. This is a no brainer move a team like the Saints should make. The 4 pick will likely not pan out anyway and with a few defensive free agents we are right there. Make the move now.

I just watched Sam Darnold look like the first overall pick in a few years. I've watched most of his games since he's become a starter. Would rather snag him after 2018.

belicheck can make steve walsh look like a pro quarterback but that doesn't mean they are going to be any good when playing a full season for another team.
granted the guy shows "promise" and I think he is good enough to start and be better then 5 or 6 other quarterbacks we see playing but by no means does he look like a rising star "just yet" but he looks like an interesting project for some team "if the price isn't too high".
after all, we all know what the word "potential" means in the NFL and he is just the latest "pretty girl" we see

1.) if Jimmy was truly worth a 1st and a 4th round pick the Pats would not let him walk or entertain letting him leave. As a matter of fact they would wait till after the season and make Tom Brady available.
2.) why put the 11th overall pick in the draft plus a 4th towards a soon to be expensive relative unknown vs drafting 2 QBs that are locked in and cheap like the Redskins did when they almost uncovered 2 QB Gems in the same year?
3.) why would we trade for a QB when we have Drew under contract with a no trade clause? We would be giving up future assets while letting a really good piece walk with no compensation in return.

They said the same thing about Ryan Mallet. Garoppolo is only gonna be great if he goes with McDaniels or if he waits til Brady retires. Otherwise he'll be another Pats backup qb that looks good for a little bit then busts when given a chance elsewhere (Cassel, Hoyer, Mallet).
