What will this cost us in dead money?

Edit: 8 million in dead money. Would have dropped to 4 million if we waited till next year.

I felt like them potentially keeping him had less to do with the money and more to do with continuity. Despite a bad last 4 games, we had a pretty good stretch there in the middle of the year and Byrd finally played some of his best ball that he's had here. So I thought maybe for the sake of keeping that progress they'd at least keep him 1 more season. Guess not.

We are pretty much banking on a huge leap from Vonn Bell, because KV is a box guy and honestly sucks playing deep.

That's very dumb of them if this is true. The dead money would be cut in half if they cut him next season. I guess they think it's another 7-9 season.

They save 3.2 million cutting him now and take 8 million in dead money (Pre June)

They have 7 million in cap relief next season cutting him and cut the dead money in half.

If he's a June 1 cut could free up 7.5 millionish
