Not saying he's right for doing it, but he stated that's how his father raised him. I'm sure he'll think differently as he gets older, but that's how he thought it was at the time. You're a product of your environment.

I wonder why the Pats didn't want him, even at that bargain basement price?

You can never have too many running backs. First, drop out like flies during the season. Second, if by chance you manage to keep them healthy, some team with an eye on the playoffs with likely need one by the trade deadline. That's when you pull a Belichick on them.

Saints record when the run 30+ times per game: 42-4

I have a question about this stat

Are we winning because we ran the ball or are we running the ball cause we are winning?
Both, actually.

Being able to run the ball opens up the passing game, which is basically unfair with Brees at QB.
This lets Brees crank it up and get some points, and the Saints get ahead.
Then, with a lead, being able to run the ball finishes the deal.

Every year at the end of the season, everyone is all about the defense being fixed, every pick should be d, etc. As the off-season progresses, some forget how bad our defense was, and start to clamour for offensive players that would bring marginal returns given our current offensive stature.

If nothing else, im happy this should somewhat focus the fanbase going into draft.
