I used to be Thursday-Monday football is life. I'd watch every game I can. Now I will watch LSU and possibly another college game or 2 and I will watch the Saints if I'm not busy.

Partly because I don't feel the NFL product is as good as it used to be, but also because family. Priorities change.

For me it is the opposite. I was always an intense Auburn fan and a casual Saints fan that enjoyed watching games but never hoped for too much.

After Auburn won a title in 2010 my interest in college football has died down quite a bit. I still enjoy the individual matchups like beating Bama, LSU and so on, but am not longer consumed when a lose occurs like the season is over.

But the Saints have become my passion.

Same here. Bounty gate, bad drafts, games being way too long. Last season I watched two games start to finish.

Came 2nd in my fantasy league though.

Going 7-9 with shitty and I mean shitty defenses the last 3 years have took a little out me I can't lie! I'm not a pro sports fan today in general like I was 30 years ago.

Much rather college now.

I've lost interest with anything to do with New Orleans, and this coming from somebody who saw the Saints very first game on a B & W television set in 1967. NOLA can go to Hell as far as I'm concerned.

This has happened for me to an extent over the last couple of years. I have found I don't HAVE to watch things live anymore. Real life shite takes over for my sports fandom. I never thought I'd transition into a "meh I'll go to a wedding and drink for free" kinda guy vs watching a saints or LSU game. I enjoy it, but I don't have this concern over myself for missing a play or two.

This. I find I can have fun on a golf course even if I play badly and have fun fishing even if I don't catch anything. Yet when the Saints or LSU play really badly, I usually regret not spending that time doing something else.

the win/loss column has no effect on how much I follow the Saints.

but the Bounty fallout thing or whatver just stirred me the wrong way. Goodell is a piece of shite and now as time goes on he is gaining more and more disdain from more fans.

I still watch some NFL (besides Saints) but its for different reasons now.

A little gambling here and there.

those years in my early 20's I never pictured my NFL viewing dropping off like it has. It's okay.. there is a lot going on besides football but shite heads like Goodell make it easy to not enjoy as much as before.

i'm totally with you.

as soon as the season was over I was looking forward to the next one.

then one year I didn't start looking forward until the draft, and then until minicamps and then until training camp and then until preseason, and then I just would wake up one day and find out the season starts in a few days.

now I hardly if at all watch the NFL...i'll tune in to see Adrian Peterson probably for the first couple of games and get bored.

Saints interest slowly disappearing

This is what happens when you display a poor product.
Nothing stirs up interest like success and nothing destroys it like consistent failure. No one is interested in a losing product or culture. (Ex.) Put Brees and his stats in a Patriots uniform and Brady and his stats in a Saints uniform and guess who tops the GOAT conversation hands down. Winning makes everyone involved in it look better.
Even the ball boy.

I love my wife and daughter more than anything, but when LSU or the Saints are playing, you better believe I'm not turning my attention away from the game. I got the rest of the week to do other things and lead a fulfilling life. When football season rolls around, it gets my undivided attention. I'm a die-hard football fan and that will never change, no matter how much my teams suck or how much Roger Gooddell tries to ruin the sport. So no, I can't relate to losing interest.
