The Saints have to get to 7-5 to make the playoffs. I really think there is only one truly hard game left and that is at Atlanta the last game of the season. If the Saints get to 7-5 and sweep Tampa Bay and also beat Arizona then the final game will be a winner take all for the division most likely.

I don't see 9-7 making it this year with three teams Seattle, Washington, and Arizona having ties. I see one of them finishing 9-6-1. Best case scenario would be for Arizona and Seattle to tie again later in the season.

Need to win 7 of the next 9

Tough. Beat SF and I'll give them a chance.

Beat SF and Denver and I'll give them a chance. Ive seen them claw back to 4-4 many times before only to drop the next two to beatable opponents

different team. That team would get beat by 30 by Carolina and Cincy and handled by the Bucs as well. This is a good football team. Period.

The only thing that's different to me is Drews play. He's not turning it over as much as he did those years and definitely not at the worst times possible. Drew is having one of his better years in recent memory

10-6 gets you in most of the time, with 9-7 getting you in about half. Until we hit the 7th or 8th loss (depending on the rest of the division/conference), I always consider us still in the playoff race.

Do I think we'll go 7-2 over the next 9 weeks? Probably not. But, until it happens either way, we are still in the hunt.

If that's really all that's different to you, pay closer attention

What about the fact that we're pass blocking better than last year or the fact that our defense is better(Breaux & Rankins also coming back). It's close, but I'd also take our 2016 WR's/TE's over 2015 WR's/TE's.

Seattle, Washington, and Arizona with ties kill a 9-7 playoff team this year IMO. Unless Dallas, Seattle, and/or Minnesota run the table.

Defense is definitely better but not something to write home about. Just cause we're not historically bad everyone acts like we're the 85 bears

When Breaux comes back we will have a shutdown corner. If Rankins is what we think he might be this team could run the table

In back to back weeks, we have generated consistent pressure. We haven't seen that since 2013.

With rankins coming and the trio take snaps from Jenkins and Breaux coming back into form and reduces the need for a 3 safety set we will start tackling properly (looking at you byrd) we could definitely improve into the teens.

That's a lot of ifs, but the potential to do it is there. We couldn't say that in 2014-5

I think everyone still recognizes this as a bad defense. However, it's a young defense and is missing key guys. Last year they were embarrassing. So this is a step in the right direction.

I doubt it, but playoffs are a possibility. I think we are close from a real run. We need a few more pieces. Like a RB that is actual threat, a LB that can stay healthy and make plays and another outstanding offensive lineman.

We have 30$ mil in cap in the offseason. We can potentially sign in impact LB and Guard and draft another defensive lineman.

Get Kikaha back next year....maybe sign or draft another Sproles to take this offense to the next level...who knows.

*I just don't think we have enough pieces yet from a real run. We're close though and our young guys are playing well and getting better.
