This is crazy. What 3-4 coach is out there beside Rob Ryan? He has to have someone in mind.

Our D can improve drastically. It happens every year with other teams.
The past 7 years have totally demoralized me when it comes to the defense. I've gotten in trouble on here the past few years for being a negaSaint, because, my last straw with the defense was the Seattle playoff game.

There's NOTHING this team could do on defense that would have me optimistic about them, going into a season. I have to see it on the field

Yeah, I was just talking about the Payton era though.

We've had the same weakness his entire time here and it worst than its ever been.

They did not improve. The Carolina game was just as bad as the other games. A good game here or there is not an improvement.

Couldn't disagree more. They most definitely improved. Nobody gave a shite for that game... Including our offense. Our defense actually kept us in quite a few games that we were throwing away later in the year. You can only stack shite so high.

He got fired for more than performance issues, you bet your arse on that!

Yeah that seems pretty clear now with the way players are reacting in interviews and on twitter.

Kinda silly. First off, they don't have a DC hired yet (that we know of) and secondly, Spags didn't exactly get the fairest shake. Not saying the firing was wrong, but people turning on him seconds after being fired is pretty weak IMO.

Curious if him and Loomis didn't get along all that well.

I agree, I think he just didn't mesh well with players and other coaches..

I like the guy tho, hopefully he lands another job and finds success elsewhere

That's why I'm saying I like Spags. I believe he would have a huge turn around in a 2nd season of his system. His Giants players all said the same.. however, I really like the boldness to switch to a 3-4. Been wanting that. We've passed on some elite 3-4 players in the past bc of it.

I'm excited about the 3-4 too. If we could get the right players, I'd love to see a resurgence of the Dome Patrol. Guys who take pride in getting to the QB. shite man, ANY resemblance of a defense and the Saints are near impossible to beat.

Our current personnel is better suited for a 3-4 than a 4-3..
