What?

Jordan can't play RDE. Gallette is the only pure weakside 4 DL DE we have.

Cutting next year:
Grubbs: 9.6mil cap (6.0mil dead/3.6mil save)
Hawthorne: 6.01mil cap (3.02mil dead/2.99mil save)
Lofton: 9.0mil cap (5.0mil dead/4.0mil save)
Evans: 11.0mil cap (5.0mil dead/6.0mil save)

Restructure/extend Evans and he'll be a Saint for life.

As for the other 3, at what point does it become more beneficial to cut/keep? I think Hawthorne is more reasonable, but only 3.6mil saving and 4.0mil saving on Grubbs/Lofton while losing 11mil shows me they're here til 2016 unless they take a pay cut or something.

2016:
Grubbs: 10.3mil cap (3.0mil dead/7.3mil save)
Evans: 10.2mil cap (1.5mil dead/8.7mil save)
Lofton: 7.5mil cap (3.0mil dead/4.5mil save)
Hawthorne: 5.51mil cap (1.51mil dead/4.0mil save)

So imo:
Hawthorne is cut before 2015
Evans gets extended
Grubbs gets cut before 2016
Lofton gets cut before 2016

Didn't turn around in coverage? Agreed, saw it several times. Not something to worry about with Lewis, Champ, and probably Prob and White. Baptiste had really good coverage on the play, just a learning experience.
Agree on the first 3 but not White. He's better than the other guys were tonight but he definitely needs to work on locating the ball still.

Hell KV is far better at it than White and I'd say even a little better than Robinson.

Yeah Corey White looked pretty lost on some of the plays I saw him in on.

I'll say it again. PRob can run with anyone. Turning around...not so much.

Foster can(and has) play(ed) it. Plus it doesn't NEED to be a speed guy.

Jordan has also played it(as well as every other spot on the line). Just put him there and Hicks on the strongside.

To think Jordan can't play both spots is selling him well short.

I've seen him do it a lot more than White. If you're still thinking of that Spags year then you aren't remembering the promising Robinson from 2011.

Jordan and Hicks are the two most versatile DL we have. I think they're able to play each and every spot you ask them to, and do it well.

If it came down to keeping our line + Jordan or Junior, I'm going with Jordan. He can do everything better than Junior minus pass rush from the weak side. But yet he still got 12.5 sacks

KV, like a few times last year, made a play covering an outside WR tonight (have to watch again if it was an X or Z Wr, but it was on the weakside) . So versatile, he limits the importance of the slot CB.

Definitely. I just wish we could clone him and have 7 of him out there(minus the Dline).

But that's why I'm more than fine with our current CB situation. Bailey/Robinson are more than good enough to cover 2s and play well enough.

You're right, but he's not a prototypical RDE. Again, he's our best defensive player, but I think we are loaded at potential 4 and 3 DL strongside guys.

I wouldn't say that like it's a fact. I think he could be just as good as Galette(and he had a few sacks from that side last year).

He isn't all power, but he is very powerful. He has an excellent blend of speed, power, and technique.

YES WE CAN!

I'm just generalizing when I say that. Jordan could definitely be better, but he's so versatile that you can have your 3 or 4 best DL on the field at once and it'll be very productive. Him and Hicks are pretty big bullies from watching game tape and practice.

He's quick for a guy his size as well. 4.78 40 yard, 7.07 cone, and 4.37 20 shuttle.
6'4 and 287lbs

To compare: Clowney is 6'5 and 266lbs
Ran a 4.53s 40, 7.27 cone, and 4.43 20 shuttle.

Bone, what do you think the chances of are of our re-signing Ingram? With the upcoming defensive talent hitting FA, I think we're more likely to extend him after a mediocre season than a great one.Although Tate was great last season in a RBBC and doesn't make much, I'd still prefer to let him walk and save the ~$4m for the DL.

It depends on how well Ingram plays. He'll get more than he should because of how young he is, but will it be $2m or $6m per? That's the range I see him falling in.

Obviously it's not bank breaking but I think if he costs more than $4m per there is no way we resign him, especially with Robinson in the wings.

The thing about it is that he will be an UFA next year, a year before our Dline goes up. We have ways to make it all work but like I originally said it all depends on how well he does and what he can get.
