Writing was on the wall when Sean brought in Dennis Allen this year. Rob was going to be the fall guy. I think he showed what he can do with just a "little" talent in his first year with basically the same roster as the previous year. Not sure anyone could do better with the roster turnover & injuries. Tough way to make a livin'.

I don't agree completely. These hybrid defenses often put players in positions they've never played. I think it was pretty obvious. However, we will soon see. I'm not a fan of gimmicks. It doesnt take offensive coaches long to figure them out.

What gimmicks?
We played a hybrid D because we had 3-4 and 4-3 players
Not sure what was gimmicky about our defense. It was essentially a 4-3 with 3 man fronts on passing downs in 2013. Rob wasn't a blitzer (although this board thought he was for some reason)

Absolutely. Sean Payton needed a scapegoat to save his sorry arse. Payton needs to pack his shite and go too. Ryan can only coach. If the players just aren't good enough to compete how is that the coaches fault. His Defenses in Dallas were okay when he had the talent. I just dont think all the fault should be placed on Rob. I actually liked the guy. Sorry to see him go, but hopefully we can free up some money and bring in some quality defenders next year. Our drafts have just plain sucked. We may as well just pass on the draft...trade our picks for quality vets. Payton sucks
