RIP Snake.

I thought he was 69 when he played for the Saints.

quote:

Preparing to report on an unconfirmed but wide and persistent rumor that former Alabama football player Kenny Stabler had died, tuscaloosanews.com inadvertently and briefly published an incomplete story that we were preparing in the event that the story was confirmed. At this time, it is not confirmed. Unfortunately, other news outlets used social media to share the report. We regret the error and any emotional distress caused to Stabler’s family, friends and fans.

RIP...Dude was a baller even loved him when he finished his career with us. If his knees would not have been shot no telling how much longer he could have played far.

I had no idea that we used to wear white at home in the 1980's. I don't remember that at all. I thought it was only in the earlier days and during Payton.

If I recall, Buddy D had some legendary Kenny Stabler drinking stories - the type like he'd be pounding beers in the locker room after the game and would be out in the FQ until 5AM regularly.

RIP Snake

I was in attendance during the 1979 MNF game with Saints comfortably leading 35-14 in the 3rdQ. Stabler to Branch produced 3 TD's and we all left the Dome in shock after losing 42-35
