Some posters claim #25 was a bust from the beginning. What say you?

Personally, I loved him while he was in Nola and hated to see him go.

He wasn't a bust, and why are people even still talking about this?

where have the posters been saying he was a bust recently? i must have missed it.

I do not think he was a bust at all. he contributed for us and played well for us.

I think the word bust is too loosely tossed around about players. sometimes it is warranted, but most times it is just that person's perception on what they believe the player is vs looking at it objectively.

Bush was a good player with a nice career. Did he end up being the second best player in the draft? No. But we did win our only championship with him as a contributor.

Considering where he was drafted compared to his production on the field, technically yes. However that doesnt mean he wasnt a big contributor to our SB run.

No, and honestly his expectations were not even fair. He was being compared to Barry Sanders right off the bat. If that was your expectations....then I guess you can say he was.

I never expected that of him.

he has one more SB ring than Barry... in a city closer to us than Detroit.
Also, he was the ONLY bright spot in our loss to Rex Grossman at Solider Field.

If a player can play 8+ seasons and perform at an average level or better he is not a bust....

Bush did that as far as I'm concerned even had some really good seasons with the Dolphins

very dynamic passing threat, average runner, good returner, great in motion to create 1 on 1's while revealing coverages. If the measure of a bust is Kijana Carter than Reggie is Gale fricking Sayers.

Reggie Bush was not a bust.

In fact, it is my opinion that he played a very important role in helping the Saints win their first Superbowl.

It was impossible for him to live up to all the hype the media and fans were giving him prior to his entering the league.

This is a pretty played out topic.

No, he wasn't a bust. He didn't meet absurd expectations. People were comparing him to Gale Sayers when he was coming into the league. Just because he didn't live up to Hall of Fame expectations that doesn't mean that he was a bust.

definitely wasnt a bust. he was an above average nfl player overall. if he wasnt he wouldnt still be floating around the league.

He won the Saints a Super Bowl, can't consider him a bust.

But he won't have one in Canton either

I hated the pick when we took him. He probably didn't live up to expectations, though the expectations may not have been fair.

But there is no scenario where Reggie Bush and bust should ever be linked.

Not a bust. Not even close.

He just didn't become the "Michael Jordan of football."
