This post has me confused.

He is a ST acquisition. Try to think of him in those terms, it may give you a moment of clarity. I would not get bent over a 7th rounder. These picks are BPA and not necessarily for a position of need. If your counting on a 7th rounder to make or break the draft for the Saints, then Dikta has traded away all your draft picks creating a whole new set of problems.

We ended up with the 24th ranked rushing attack in the NFL last season, with our 2 top 16 paid RBs banged up big time... but i'd still rather Ingram and CJ get that money last year than what happened to Lynch, Foster, Charles, Ivory, Demarco, Vereen.... or Would you rather some guys being paid a little less than $4MM? Toby Gerhart, Bilal Powell, Ryan Mathews, Joique Bell? PASS

With some improvements to the O-Line, even just through maturation... and a healthy Mark and CJ.... plus more help on the passing side.... we should be able to get up to that middle of the pack rushing attack, with our middle of the pack spending at the position. What is the problem? That we don't have Todd Gurley or Zeke Elliot?

Look at Zeke's salary on that chart versus the other vets. With the changes in the slotting of rookie salaries, why would you pay a rookie top 10 money at the position right out of the gate when you can get 5 years of discounted play at every other position with the same draft spot? Drafting a committee of fresh cheap legs, has yielded better results than picking RBs in high rounds. So has trading for RBs and signing them in free agency.

Want to know the last time a running back taken in the first round was the leading rusher for his team in a Superbowl winning game? February 1, 2004 Super Bowl XXXVIII, Antowain Smith, originally drafted by the Bills.

Want to know the last time a running back taken in the first round was the leading rusher for his team in a Superbowl winning game, for the team he was originally drafted to? January 28, 1996 Super Bowl XXX, Emmitt Smith... 20 years ago.
