He's not the only R Bush in the league. Maybe we can find another one.

It was a risk to not give him a 2nd round tender (I thought they made the right decision). His best chance to get a nice payday would have been to stay in this defense and get a lot of playing time. That wasn't an option after we signed Byrd, so he was probably willing to take any one year offer.

I am thinking it may be length and not money. Saints only threw out a one year $1.4 million tender contract. Falcons may have made a multi-year deal with some guaranteed money.

The smart move would be to stick to a one year deal with a team where he can play a lot and hit free agency with a higher value than he does now.

I hope the offer isn't ridiculous so we can match it, but if he leaves I wouldn't be shocked we replace him with Champ.

Unless it's a crazy offer, which I doubt it is, I don't see us not matching. Especially with no compensation.

This is why I said they should have made him a second round tender. He has starter talent and it would have cost what like one mil more?

Maybe that's why we signed Ball though. I'd like to see the Falcons' offer.

frick, I really liked Bush. I wouldn't have minded if he left for another team but the Falcons? Damn it.

He gone?

That would suck to lose him to those asshats. He's a solid depth guy.

The only reason he's depth is because our starting safeties are ridiculously good

I think he could start somewhere too...which is why I'm shocked nobody has tried to sign this dude yet. I mean, he's not amazing but the limited PTs he looks solid as a starter. If Falcons were smart they gave him decent deal for a few years.

Exactly. He's like a top 20 Safety in the league. Our starters are top 10.

He'd honestly be one of the best players on their defense.

This stinks, but I can't imagine the team didn't have a plan in case this happened. If the offer is reasonable, I think we match. However, you have to wonder how much is your 3rd safety really worth?
