Yes, but then again over the years I have come to realize; that not letting the outcome of a game affect my well being is liberating.

As I told someone, I may not agree with it and will always stand for the flag/anthem but I have been a Saints fan since I was a little kid. I have pictures of myself in jersey and helmet running around. My grandfather all my uncles, along with my dad and brother are fans...my daughter will be raised a fan.

I 100 percent disagree with their method of protest but will not let a group of players who in five years most likely won't be on the team upset me so much a big part of my life is shunned.

Same argument I apply to entertainment, its entertainment. Just like I don't care about the politics of the butcher, I don't care what people who entertain me think about these issues. Part of what makes America so great.

No different than Hollywood elitists. Screw 'em!
Nobody here has been a Saint fan longer than me.
If disrespecting the country doesn't bother you then screw you, too.
Dallas sent their message without disrespecting the flag. The NO SAINTS can, too.

I agree with you, but in the big picture these guys aren't going to be relevant. Doesn't mean I'm ok with them but chose not to let it infringe on my happiness.
Their moment in the sun will pass.

I'll fly my flag on my house and watch my Saints. And despite your suggestion not screw myself.

I think you should stand for the national anthem and do not understand what they are trying to accomplish by sitting or kneeling. That being said, I'm not going to stop watching something that I love because of this stuff. I try to turn the games on right when they start to avoid seeing the anthem (terrible because it use to be one of my favorite parts about watching games) and I don't watch any "sports" news channels. I think 90% of Hollywood actors would take a knee for the national anthem if they had a chance but that wouldn't mean I'd never watch a movie they were in again.

I really don't think that we have to agree with people before we can recognize their rights. That seems to be where we are. I think it's very unpatriotic to dismiss people's rights because we disagree with them. I'm African American, but even I recognized the rights of the people in Charlottesville to march in peace. I'll never agree with the message or the way that some people feel about me on sight. But that's between them and the Most High God. The same God that I'm going to answer to for plenty of other stuff. I read racist stuff on this site all the time, but I don't let people with hate in their hearts dictate my entertainment, like the poster above stated. Also, if your that patriotic, speak up about all the desecrations of the flag that go on in the stadium and in our society. Max Kellerman on first take pointed out a good 5 things that desecrate the flag that are widely excepted, like having the flag parallel to the ground. That's done before games, but accepted. We have 3-4 months of football. Don't let people f that up for you. I refuse to

I got to the Saints-Patriots game right as the SSB was starting. I stopped and stood in the concourse, but all around me people were walking to their seats, ordering food, drinking beer, etc. I didn't give a shite. No one else around me gave a shite. It's played before damn near every sporting event from HS on.

The people that are acting the most asshurt about it aren't mad because it's disrespectful, they're mad because the players are protesting in the name of BLM. Plain and simple.

Why is not letting a protest against our country's flag bother you any more noble than letting a sports team's loss affect your life?

Anyone lets something as trivial as grown men kneeling during the anthem get them upset is weak minded.

All of this will be merged into the lame “moment of silence” that has been around for 20 years. Wear your vajayjay hat or whatever you want during that, but stand for the anthem.

This country was born out of disrespecting a powerful central government that wasn't doing right by the people. So by wanting people to STFU and just accept the status quo, you're actually the one that's being disrespectful of what America stands for.

Unfortunately as with so many things in this country, we seem to only be capable of discussing symptoms and not causes. This isn't about disrespecting America, Racial profiling, police oppression or any of the issues being discussed. This is about how our education and public "assistance" system is failing miserably and making our citizens and country worse in the process. But our political "leaders" don't actually want us discussing real issues because then they'd have to solve them and it's a lot easier to get reelected by making voters hate and fear the other guy than to be so good at solving complex problems that everybody actually likes and respects you.

For everyone who complains about the players bringing politics into football. I disagree, the NFL brought politics into the sport when they decided it should be played before every single game. If we want politics and the NFL completely separate, remove the National anthem before every game.

I think the Anthem should be played of course at the Olympics or other international competitions of such, as well as the Super Bowl, World Series, etc. But as far as the anthem having to be played at every single sporting event ever. I believe that is just plain stupid.
