Harper is a lock. They wouldn't have asked him back and he wouldn't have come back if he wasn't.

He may not make the "final 53" in the first week because of the guarantee rules (they'll keep a rookie or cheaper guy so less money is guaranteed, cut him, and then sign and pay the vet week to week with no commitment).

And I doubt Stupar is a lock. He has the inside edge at the moment (or maybe not because they like Mauti also) but with all the young safeties and corners showing out he may not cut it.

Last note would be that we are keeping at least 5 WRs (again week 1 "final 53" may be a bit odd but it always balances back), so it would be keep 2 or 3.

Edit:
So I lied. Last note is I doubt we keep more than 8 OL (we usually keep exactly 8, rarely carrying 9) given the lack of depth and horrible reports out of camp about how bad the 2nd and 3rd string Olines have been.

Yea, I see Harper & Harris both as locks(as of now), but b/c some people might choose 4 safeties...I wanted to give them all the options.

We have to keep atleast 5 LB's. You're probably right on Stupar not being a lock, and if he doesn't make it then I guess Mauti would be the favorite. I've read a few things on Dillon Lee & Schoettmer , but I'm not sure if they even have a chance.

I agree on the 5 WR's at minimum, but some people on this board like the idea of keeping just 4. I seriously doubt we keep 6...I think a couple of those guys make practice squad though.

I can see all those points.

But yeah I feel Mauti has just as good of a shot as Stupar so I see neither as a lock.

Then again we could keep both.

Maybe move Stupar to the bubble guys and change it to pick 1 or 2?

What's the point of keeping Elston when there's Byrd/Vaccaro/Harris/Harper/Bell in front of HIM? Perfect prax squad candidate.

We have to FIND a way to keep Harris and Crawley on the squad.

JACK Allen will make this team.

The toughest CUTS will be running back. Ingram and Spiller are locks. Don't see them spending a 7 on Lascoe and cutting him bc of the value he brings on ST that Hightower and Cadey don't

Daveson will start at NT and Fairley/Rankins will rotate next to him. This will be a strength of the team. Robertson may eventually end up out snapping John Laurenitis 60%+

Read a article about TommyLee Lewis & Bill Parcells and how they've been friends since he was in high school. He is probably a lock over Coleman.

That's neglecting the fact we may cut people too (looking at Jenkins), so we may end up with an extra spot.

I just want to say: this was really fricking hard.

quote:

RB
Daniel Lasco
Marcus Murphy
Travaris Cadet

Lasco looks like a really good fit for our system. I think he will be good in the Spiller role if we choose to get rid of him next offseason. We will have to figure something out at returner because there just isn't room.

quote:

FB
Austin Johnson
John Kuhn
Sione Houma

No brainer. I still think it wouldn't surprise me if we rolled with 0 here and just used Hooman though.

quote:

WR
Brandon Coleman
RJ Harris

Reggie Bell
Jake Lampman
Jared Dangerfield
Tommylee Lewis
Jordan Williams-Lambert

Not seeing much out of these other guys. With Spiller and Lasco on the roster we roll with 5.

quote:

OL
Landon Turner
Jack Allen
Avery Young
Tony Hills
Tyrus Thompson
Cyril Lemon
Kaleb Eulls
Marcus Henry
Joe Cheek
John Fullington
Jordan Walsh

Allen is looking like a stud in camp. We need a little insurance incase shite goes wrong with Unger contract. Eulls has made the transition well. With Peat serving as the backup T, I think we roll with two interior guys and keep Hills on speed dial if there is an injury.

quote:

K
Kai Forbath
Connor Barth

Forbath has been better. Either will be fine though, seems like they're both kicking arse (geddit?).

quote:

DE
Davis Tull
Darryl Tapp
Matt Shaughnessy

Tull hasn't been given enough of a chance yet.

quote:

LB
Nate Stupar
Michael Mauti

Dillon Lee
Jeff Schoettmer
Tony Steward

Gotta have both of these guys. Solid ST + backups.

quote:

CB
Brian Dixon
DeVante Harris
Ken Crawley

Jimmy Pruitt
Brandon Dixon

I am really, really stumped here. I have 10 out of 13 spots filled and I really want to keep Harris, Crawley, Harris and Harper. This is going to be really tough on the team. DeVante Harris and Crawley have looked too good in camp to not get a shot at a really shitty other team's roster if we cut them. When you have solid talent, you have to sign them. I would really like to keep Brian Dixon (he is by far our best ST player) but roster room is a major issue at this point so one of these guys will have to step up there.

quote:

S
Erik Harris
Roman Harper
Trae Elston
Jamal Golden

Harper takes the fall here. I really want to keep him for his leadership but I choose young talent.

As much as I believe in Grayson, if he doesn't show something in the preseason I wouldn't be surprised to see them cut bait and keep Harper or maybe Murphy.

If I recall correctly, Stupar signed a 3 yr 14 million dollar deal. I would think that makes him a lock to make the team.
