Sean Canfield?

was this book ever open? I don't think he was ever expected to be more than a practice squad guy

The book was open to him developing and being around but i'm not sure the saints have been satisfied with his progress thus far, may be time to start putting in the time for a new prospect/project.

why roby, coaches know his return game (letting others get a look), is a great ST tackler and can play receiver.

Think he sticks

Canfield an AA are probably gone

He may, hence the questions. I'm curious to see the numbers game on the WR's.

Let's say we keep colston, moore, devery, and meachem. Do they keep 5 or 6 here. Roby was making some catches as a WR finally. So that's good. He's a solid special teams player, thats a plus. But at what cost are we keeping him if we going to maybe take a flier on joe morgan and then you have a guy like billings having a great catch. Roby may stay but it's going to be a tough call.

Sadly it appears so. Pulling for this guy still though. If ever a year to beat Devery it would have been this year, but injuries suck.

Sean Canfield?

yup

Courtney Roby???

One trick ponies aren't of value anymore thanks to the new kickoff rules. Sucks bcs he's played well before, but as a WR he's not good.

Morgan can do all that Roby does, plus return punts and comes cheaper.

it really puzzled me why we gave him 1.25 mill for one year with the new kickoff rule and then went and grabbed Sproles (who is, without a doubt, a better return man).

seems like a waste of money to me.

Canfield will be on the Prac Squad.

Roby will make the team

AA, if he doesn't play Saturday, I think he's gone.

why roby

Because he had a down year at ST last year, his only contributing factor to the team.

quote:

coaches know his return game

They know it's absolutely horrible. He did okay at first then opposing ST's finally realized, hey this guy is really never going to make a cut. He catches the ball and runs straight. It finally caught up to him last year as his KR's were atrocious.

quote:

Was a great ST tackler. Again he was very good here the year before last, but for whatever reason he had a dropoff, not good when a one trick pony loses it's trick. When could he play receiver at a NFL level? He caught some passes against the 4th string of the 49ers.

All that said, if AA stays injured and Morgan falls of from his great showing Friday, he may still make the team. He has to beat both of those guys out IMO.

Morgan is a damned good gunner, so he could be.
