Gabbert (49ers) -- 16/23 196 yds 1 td 1 int qbr = 57.5
Prescott (cowboys) -- 23/32 245 yds. 2 td 0 int qbr = 84.7
PFF ratings for each...
Gabbert = 68.8
Prescott = 50.9
QBR is strictly based on numbers. Mostly the numbers you cited actually.
PFF is based on what someone watched. Dak didn't throw a single pass over 20 yards the entire game. They will dock him for things like missing receivers deep. That isn't something QBR can take into account.

It takes into account the situations, if the int was because a receiver tipped it then it doesn't hurt the qb as much. If a wr makes an amazing play on a bad pass than the qb doesn't get much credit.
Gabbert was pressured a lot as well, he turned negative plays into positive gains by avoiding sacks and rushing.
The grading discrepancy is awkward though, dak looked pretty good yesterday as well.

Dak gets penalized more for not going downfield in a win than gabbert does for an int in a loss

That isn't how it works. Having wide open receivers is different than having to fit a ball into tight windows because of constant pressure and good coverage
All defense is not created equal. Nor are offensive lines and WRs

PFF also doesnt consider where the player went to college.

Well they should haha
I said in my first post I didn't understand their rating system. I don't agree with PFF saying dak was one of the worst players on the field yesterday though

That isn't how they rate players. He's being rated against the average play of other QB's in similar situations.
So if he's given a 1 option route that is a wide open dumpoff in the flat, he's expected to hit it. If he's throwing a back shoulder bullet to the sideline 20+ yards downfield, that is different.

Go back and watch the game again and keep your eyes on Peat. He struggled. Again.
He appeared to give up the one sack deep in our territory, but that was on Brees and another OL. Peat has his guy contained, someone else got beat causing Brees to backpedal right into the guy Peat was fanning out

I'm not sure how PFF comes up with all their ratings. Check this out...
Gabbert (49ers) -- 16/23 196 yds 1 td 1 int qbr = 57.5
Prescott (cowboys) -- 23/32 245 yds. 2 td 0 int qbr = 84.7
PFF ratings for each...

Exactly
If the Dline runs a stunt, he's lost. Go watch the play Brees was sacked (almost a safety).
People can sunshine pump all day, but Peat is a below average NFL lineman. Fact.

I didn't hear his name called out once yesterday. Thats what I like to not hear. O-linemans names or numbers during a game

Peat did his job.
Brees was forced backwards due to the interior rush, preventing him from stepping up in the pocket

He has not been below average at all this year, FACT. He certainly hasn't been below average at G. FACT.

Are you kidding? It is called a pocket. The pressure from the interior made that happen. Peat did his job. Football 101. The further a QB has to drop back, the better angle for edge rushers.
He was sacked at the 1 yard line when the LoS was the 12. I don't think the 11 yard drop back was due to edge pressure.... This is why pff makes the money.

But but but I thought Loomis and Payton were incapable of righting the ship when it comes to free agent signings......

I understand that it's the cool thing around here to say that Peat sucks, but he's actually been one of our better Olinemen this year. He's had 3 good games out of four. He's still VERY young, and will only get better. People might as well accept him, b/c he's going to be with us a long time most likely.
Peat has actually played just as good as Unger this season. Unger whiffed big on 2 plays that I saw yesterday.

I'd argue and say all 4 has been pretty good. He gets flack because Freeney dominated him for one sack vs Atlanta.
Freeney also manhandled Remmers yesterday for a sack.
