I want to see the Ingram melt when this actually happens. He's such a cry baby that it should be pretty entertaining.

Apparently, no one has thought so thus far. Deep RB class, so that isn't helping.

That's not true at all. We just don't use him to catch a bunch of balls. We use Cadet for some reason.

They built it like a month ago. I just got the triple double crunch wrap from there with the verde sauce. A block off Orleans. AP got the quesarito.

I just don't think he's that valuable in our system.

The system makes the player here, not the other way around.

Guys like Pierre and Ingram weren't pass catchers until they got here. Our offense will throw underneath a ton, run screen, use WRs to clear out space etc. Peterson is an athlete - he knows how to catch a football, he knows how to run w the ball in his hand. If it came down to it, he'd be fine.

I wouldn't say that makes him a cry baby.

In the first one he could be shaking his head because he fricked up, not because someone else scored.

In the second one he's pissed because he did all the work and didn't get to score. I'd be pissed too.

But going back to Alabama he never had a problem splitting carries. Here are the RB numbers from his time in Tuscaloosa:

2008:

Ingram - 143 carries
Coffee - 233 carries
Upchurch - 58 carries

2009:

Ingram - 271 carries
Richardson - 145 carries
Upchurch - 48 carries

2010:

Ingram - 158 carries
Richardson - 112 carries
Lacy - 56 carries

Here's his quote on splitting carries from last season:

quote:

Do you think it benefits you and Tim Hightower to split carries?

“I mean whatever the gameplan is I’m all for it. It worked out real well last week and like you said guys can stay fresh, so when you are in there you’re 100% and it worked out well for us so whatever is best for the team going forward that’s what I’m all about.”

He's 27 years old. He knows it is better for him long-term to share the load. Two incidents in the heat of the moment doesn't change that.

that wasn't worth throwing the bitch tantrum he threw. You can't accused people of being blind haters and then defend that crap.

I'm not defending the act, I'm saying it is unfair to label him a "huge cry baby" due to two incidents in 6 years.

He should have handled it better. I agree.

Don't be obtuse. He got caught up in the moment.

Here's what he (and Hightower) said after the game:

quote:

"I'm real competitive in everything I do, man," said Ingram, though he wouldn't specifically confirm whether the lack of a scoring opportunity is what set him off. "So I gotta be smarter, gotta control my emotions better. But we had a great win as a team, and that's our No. 1 goal, and that's what I'm happy for -- that we're bringing a win back to New Orleans."

quote:

"Coach is real cool. He's very understandable," said Ingram, who didn't specify what Payton told him. "Everybody calmed me down, man -- a number of teammates, a number of coaches. That's what a family's about, that's what a team is. A team is a family. And I appreciate all those guys for being there for me and also being understanding."

quote:

"Mark's competitive, man, as am I," Hightower said. "It's a tough situation, especially when you start getting down there to that goal line. As a running back, your eyes are lightin' up, man. You see the end zone and you want to get in there. So I understand his frustration.

"And I know it's something that he knows: It's an emotional game, and you gotta just make sure you control your emotions at that point of the game. But I understand, I've been there, I've been in his shoes, and I understand his frustration."

Ingram has also publicly praised the offensive line in the past:

quote:

"I think we came in with a very diverse run game, and I think it helped everybody," Ingram told ESPN of the Saints’ variety of inside and outside runs. "The offensive line did a tremendous job. I can’t have a game like that without them. They did a great job getting a hat on hat, having seams for me to run through, and I just had to make a guy miss in the open field."
