ingram was actually a pretty solid pass catcher out of the backfield 2 years ago....anyway I'm not sure what the plan for this backfield is currently.

For the record, I have never been anti-Ingram. However, I have also never been pro-Ingram.

Sure it's a shot in the dark but, Loomis could at least pick up the phone and ask. No harm in that.

All threads like the one you created get anchored. You're not special.

Fair enough. I assumed, since most of the "trade ingram" crowd thinks he sucks and hates him because he went to Bama.

He could, and maybe has, but there is no way he is that valuable to any other team IMO. RBs are super devalued these days. There are tons of them in this draft and in the FA market. I think Ingram is worth a lot more to us than he is to anyone else, which is why he won't ever be worthy of a trade.

Also, Peterson is 31. He had 1.9 YPC last year. Don't think he could man the RB1 spot for us anymore.

I agree, but he isn't really much of a natural pass catcher. I'd say 80% of his catches are simple swing passes or a screen. Peterson can do this; anyone that has watch him knows this

this is looking like a pretty good offseason.

if only we could keep Ingram from hurting someone in camp we may have something

so what do we do with ingram? Seems like a lot of money tied up at the RB position, especially when 2 of which are sort of redundant. Yeah I get we did it last year with Hightower but he was cheap

Keep him. He is RB1, Peterson spells him.

For the record Ingram's cap hit is less than 1/53rd of the cap so he more than carries his weight

I think AP's stats from last year are slightly tainted because teams dared Bradford to beat them. They loaded the box to stop AP and it worked for the most part.

I think AP would do well with the Saints because, as said on here multiple times, we do not run the ball much. Therefore, to me, he would stay fresh and healthy and the 15-18 times a game when we would run him, would keep the defense honest and give Drew a better chance to do some work on the DBs.

My dislike for him has zero to do with him playing for Bama.

It has everything to do with him disappearing at times and give lackluster effort. The best effort we have seen from him was last season when he was benched and pouted like a candy arse. You do that with a high school player or a young college player. You shouldn't have to do that with a guy that has been in the NFL for 5 years. I am all for dumping Ingram and bringing in Peterson and picking up another back in the draft.

Not only that but, I doubt AP's ego will allow him to be a back-up.

240 career catches says otherwise. He isn't known for it and isn't like Bush and Sproles, but he can catch.

On Ingram, he has 149 catches, with 29, 50, and 46 the last 3 years.

He had more catches than Cadet last year.

so according to this board so far today we are trading for Butler and signing AP by the end of the day. Seems legit.
