Not even gonna lie, going into the draft I thought he was going to be a superstar. Before we announced we were switching to the 3-4 I wanted him so bad. I still did a little bit after, but not as much.

Undrafted Glenn Foster is outplaying some of these guys.

Think of this class' production:

Kenny Vacarro
Kenny Stills
John Jenkins
Tim Lelito
Glenn Foster
Kevin Reddick
Josh Hill

Last 4 guys went undrafted.
That's a ton of production from a rookie class.

can i get some love for mentioning TY Hilton and Keenan Allen the past two years? Disappointed the Saints didn't pull the trigger on Allen, but it is understandable. Would have been a great weapon for Brees.

Weren't we interested in a DL that got drafted by Detroit ?

I don't know about Detroit, but I was bummed when the panthers took star loteleiu the pick before the saints given that nt seemed like a glaring need.

While star has been the real deal for carolina, vaccaro is perfect for our d and John Jenkins was a steal in the 3rd at nt

It's absolutely amazing how good he is with the limited football experience he has. And BYU has another great looking NFL prospect in Kyle Van Noy.

Awesome...will be in the probowl eventually. Already one of the physical DB's in the league.

Kenny Stills

Steal...drew gaining more confidence in him.

John Jenkins

Will get better and better...will start next year probs...great pick.

Tim Lelito

Given up 5 sacks this year in like 3 games. A way to go in pass protection. Good run blocker. Good guy.

Glenn Foster

Hurt most of the year. Hope he is well for the playoffs...great potential.

Jimmy Graham didn't have a great rookie year either. Different caliber players, but Hill is obviously on the short end of the totem pole when you have Graham and Watson on the roster. He's had some good catches and had some drops, not many UDFA Tight Ends can come in and be Mr Reliable their first year.

Jenkins was a great selection, even giving up Ivory in the process was well worth it. It also sets up a possible cap casualty for us in the off-season; Bunkley is a high-value player with a hefty price tag:

quote:

3/21/2012: Signed a five-year, $25 million contract. The deal contains $9.9 million guaranteed, including a $4.5 million signing bonus and all of Bunkley's first two base salaries. Bunkley is eligible for annual $100,000 workout bonuses in years two through five. 2013: $850,000 (+ $2.85 million "signing" bonus), 2014-2016: $4.4 million, 2017: Free Agent

We might be able to get a decent draft pick for him - he was good at NT for us until he went down, and a lot of teams could use reliable production from a vetted player at DT/NT.

Not pooping on your thread at all, but I quit getting worked up about draft picks a long time ago. I realized that I'm wrong most of the time. I thought sed Ellis and Malcolm Jenkins would be perennial pro bowlers. I was so mad when we picked meachem over Greg Olson. Teams aren't built in the 1st round. KV was a great pick.

I wanted Reid, but I'm more than happy with KV. He's been solid and keeps getting better.

Reid is a very good player, but KV is a better fit for Ryan's defense and his ability to play the slot receiver is huge down this stretch without Greer. This 4 game stretch alone is worth the pick.

I feel like Vacarro has a much higher ceiling than Reid

Vacarro seems like he gets better every single game

Yeah, Minter was not ready. I still think he'll pan out in the NFL with some time.

good one, owners need to stay out of the football decisions. Even worse? Don't hire a GM, just decide to be the GM yourself.

Arizona has come out and said they love minter. They just happened to sign Dansby in FA after the draft which they didn't expect to happen. Dansby has been one of the best MLB's in the league this year
