it's more about our poor guard play, than Peat's tackle play, imo.

I don't think so really, Armstead and Strief are more than servicable

Peat has looked absolutely fine at Tackle the past 2 practices. People are retarded.

Agreed; that's the impression I've been getting from what I've read. His conditioning may be abysmal but his actual play has been fine (aside from the first practice or whatever)

Peat lost all three from LG. won his one rep from LT

This meme that he's been bad at T is just retarded. He struggled his first 3 days against multi year NFL lineman. The horror.

He's been fine since.

Yeah, him missing most of the spring work definitely put him behind from the beginning. Don't love the pick, but I'm not worried about him yet.

Chad, on a scale of 9-10, how worried should I be that we screwed the pooch on this pick?

I must have missed it when Strief practiced at guard at any point. Or Evans at tackle. Or Armstead at guard. Or Grubbs at tackle when he was here. Or Bushrod at guard when he was here. Or Stinchcomb at guard when he was here. I could go on and on. I understand having a guard take a few snaps at center from time to time (and vice versa) in case of a center injury, but this is much different.
The #2 pick in the draft (Greg Robinson) played guard his first season. It is not the end of the world. Who knows what Lelito brings. It could be that he has not shown much when he has been on the field.

Greg Robinson blows donkey dong.

Terrible example.

What other teams and coaches do is irrelevant. Saints / SP have not done this. To do it with one player all of the sudden is strange.

If you look into the specifics of the situation it rationally makes more sense that they think we are set at the tackle position, we are looking weak at guard, and they are tryin to find a way to get the talented rookie onto the field. Or you could choose to assume that it's the worst possible scenario, and he looks so completely horrible that they are starting to give up on a 1st round pick a little more than a week into training camp of his rookie year. You decide which one makes the most sense.

All lineman cross train. He said the only reason why he was there was because they ran out of Guards. He's back at T tomorrow per Payton.

By all accounts he's played well the past few days

How so? He was an absolute stud of a LT in college and they played him at guard his first year (and he played well). Why the bad example? Because he was an Auburn player?

Guess what the radio was saying at how bad Evans has looked so far was true.

Lelito and Evans at G doesn't sound good for Brees this year.

Robert Gallery was a 6'7 G and it worked out okay for him.

Robert Gallery was one of the worst guards in the league, I wouldn't use him as an example.

That actually isn't true. He was a pathetic tackle, but actually played reasonably well at G

PFF had him at a +18.8 back in 2008 at LG. +8.8 in 6 games in 2009

I mixed up the positions he moved to, for some reason I thought he went Guard to Tackle.
