He'll be one of the tallest guards in the NFL, protecting one of the shortest QBs. And right after the draft, Payton was saying that he doesn't consider Peat to be a guard. Hope it works out OK.

Worried about his height, but would be awesome if we can get him on the field for most of the snaps this year

Jahri needs to get his shite together apparently. He terrifies me right now

Robert Gallery was a 6'7 G and it worked out okay for him.

The potential for this excited me when he was drafted. If he mans up, that blindside could be STOUT.

If the early reviews on Jahri are really how he's going be from now on, I'd rather Payton just cut bait for once rather than carry a 2009 guy to the detriment of everyone else

It's always a plus to cross-train offensive lineman

Hate to be negative, but...

To me this is an indictment on how poor he's looked at tackle.

SP specifically said he would be a tackle. Maybe they have reconsidered....

Downvote away.

No down vote just think our guards are a worry to the staff and they are trying the next best thing.

Or maybe they want to cross train their offensive lineman. Hard to believe I know, when you only keep 8 of them.

I read a tweet saying Jahri has some sort of heavy wrap around his knee.

I'm wondering if he's going to be able to make it through the season.

I must have missed it when Strief practiced at guard at any point.

Or Evans at tackle.

Or Armstead at guard.

Or Grubbs at tackle when he was here.

Or Bushrod at guard when he was here.

Or Stinchcomb at guard when he was here.

I could go on and on.

I understand having a guard take a few snaps at center from time to time (and vice versa) in case of a center injury, but this is much different.

Bushrod definitely did.

Not sure why this is such a problem for you.

The last few days the reports on Peat were positive at tackle.
