the 2:01 timeout was great IMO.

It worked out well, and I am not saying it was wrong or right, but he could've also taken the timeout after the 2 minute warning. It literally saved 1 second.

I think it spoke to his confidence in the defense more than anything.

he inexplicably calls a timeout at 2:01 and some people are praising him for this?

That was actually a good call.

Oh good point. That is completely logical.

The first half one was to get the refs more time to think about a play that couldn't be challenged but could be looked at again by the refs.

um no all Turnovers are reviewed automatically; as our touchdowns

sean forgot the rule and wasted a timeout

I'd love to hear all of these people saying the 2:01 timeout was brilliant explain the reasoning behind taking it there and saving ONE second with a timeout. I get that it worked out in the end, but I still don't think a timeout is worth a single second there.

As I suspected, this thread is full of half-wits praising the validity of the process based on the results.

If anybody would like to concede that it is unquestionably irrational timeout usage from a strictly time management point of view, I will entertain a debate about whether that irrationality was justified by advantages gained from momentum and other intangibles.

I really don't feel like explaining in detail about how good of a TO it was.

So I'll just address the meme that it "only saved a second".

What's better? Having an extra second or not having an extra second?

If you paid attention to the announcers yesterday, I know that is a chore, that stated that by calling that TO it gave the refs more time to look at the play. If he didn't call the TO then they would have had to make a decision within 60 seconds.

They'd rather just give emoticons or point out that it ended up working. I'm not convinced all of these people are capable of understanding it even if they tried with an open mind.

Wow, I had totally forgotten about this guy.

Do y'all remember him?
He used to do this all the time.
Write out long OP's about how everyone on the Saints staff is fricking up, and then he'd post in the thread about how everyone in the thread is dumb but him.

He supplements bad logic with good grammar.
It's always been something to see.
