Hopefully meachem can return to meachem form. Stills is not a vertical guy, we miss Morgan's talent bad.

We must get ball to graham more too

He can't be too fast. Drew will under throw him

He's not a burner, he's our only option now but he's not pulling away from DBs by speed. He's an upgrade to Moore speed wise

I disagree. I think he can be, but no ones biting on playaction off of a nonexistent run game.

Yea.
It was a TD to Stills that drew under threw.
Stills also was open on another that Brees missed him on.
Also Babs was in Brees face all game and the birds knew to bring the pressure up the middle which I thought they did very well.

I'll wait 1-2 more games before putting out the call for a deep threat.

This isn't a knock on stills cause I love the kid, he just doesn't haven't gain speed, doesn't mean he won't be productive in our O though.

We don't know if he has the speed b/c the 2 times he tried, Drew underthrew him.

No idea bout meachem, just hoping. I think he was signed to TRY to be vertical threat. Stills speed isn't enough to keep that extra safety honest

I don't know his speed yet either. Its one game and drew under threw him. Which would lead some to say he has too much

One game. I'm not saying yea or nay yet...but why are you Chad?

It looks like Stills doesn't have that extra gear, but we'll see. It's only week 1.

As for Drew, he has never had a rocket for an arm. He just needs a little more timing and protection for those long throws.

Nobody is asking why we don't trade Mark Ingram for Mike Wallace?

Stills had his guy beat (not by much, granted) on both deep throws and if Drew would have put it out there a little more he would have had it IMO

what I'm thinking:

1. stills needs to develop that last gear that most receivers get with due time and conditioning (you can tell that dude was worn out)

2. stills and brees aren't in sync yet and stills is faster than brees anticipates which leads to underthrown passes.

2 is something I hope is true and not that brees is losing arm strength

How do you get that from what I posted?

Drew threw 4 deep passes to Stills.

3 were under-thrown when Stills had a step on his defender.

1 was caught.

I think Brees needs to place the deep ball more accurately than than it is necessary to replace Stills as a deep threat.
