I've seen a couple mocks showing Taylor Lewan from Michigan falling to us. Would you be happy if they took him considering we signed Strief long term?

I would love to have him. I think WR is a more immediate need, but that is outstanding value if he falls to us.

He's a great run blocker too. We'd have one of the more athletic Olines in the NFL.

Not familiar with him, but if he's our highest rated player available, I'd do it, or field offers for a trade.

I would have a sad.
Only because it would indicate to me they have concerns with the LT position.

Wouldn't hate it, but wouldn't love it. If he's there and we can't pass on him, pull the trigger. But I do believe we have other needs that we can fill that would make more sense at that spot.

If he is rated way(WAY) higher than any other prospect you pretty much have to take him, but if it's anywhere close there's no way. Armstead and Strief are our future tackles and unless the kid can also play guard(where we could stand to get cheaper and younger) we have no use for him.

I don't see any scenario where Miami would pass on him.

It would be an amazing chain of events for him to fall to 27....but if he did, he'd be hard to pass on even if it's not a position of need.

He could drop a little due to his assault charges, but I don't see him dropping all the way to 27.

This.

People who will NOT be there at 27:

Mosley
Lewan

I think there is about a 40% chance that Mosley is still on the board at 27. The only team selecting ahead of us with a distinct need at ILB is the Bills LINK.

I certainly wouldn't be shocked if someone jumped up and took him due to the value, but he could also easily still be there, IMO.

Didn't the Bills just sign Brandon spikes? And they got kiko

Lewan would be a near must-pick selection just on value. Would depend on who else is available at what positions.

Example:

If CB Gilbert or Dennard available they rate higher on need and in the same range of value

If it was Verrett, Roby, & Fuller, they are a bit lower value but the need factor could make it a tossup decision.

He was a consensus top 15 in our poll to come up with the Top 12 targets for #27.

I'd rather drop down in that scenario depending on the other team's position. If they have a high draft position, give up our first for their 2nd & 3rd.

I would take him in a nano-second. While I like Strief, you have to take BPA regardless of position. Most draft gurus are saying that the 3 top OTs in this draft, including Lewan, are all better than Joekel and Fisher, the top 2 OTs taken in last year's draft.

Lewan was in the conversation as the possible #1 overall last year before deciding to stay. The idea of him going lower (consider him a Top 15 lock per the draft pick thread) has as much to do with the draft class as his production.

Ya have to get a landscape view of the supply at positions and chance of being available juxtaposed to your team needs. The headline position this year is Wide Receivers. It is so deep you could see guys like Benjamin or Jordan Matthews who would normally be 1st Rders go in the 2nd.

This draft is going to be so much fun.
