Yea, this team isn't very good. However, let's discuss one of the bright spots, which is Michael Thomas. Many on here saw his potential very early with how impressive he was in the preseason and what we'd hear about him in practices, but I think it's safe to say he has exceeded expectations thus far.

Through 6 games he has:

36 receptions
437 yards
3 TDs

@cantguardmike leads rookie WRs in:

Receptions
Yards
Yards/Game
TDs

His current stat projections:

96 receptions
1165 yards
8 TDs

He has been the most consistent WR, and you have to like the trio of Cooks, Thomas and Snead going forward. There have been tons of shitty draft picks from this team and we have made many threads discussing them, however this looks like a home run pick. He's not having the impact that Elliot, Prescott and Wentz are having, but he is at the very least in that discussion for OROY. There's a good chance he becomes the #1 WR on this team.

After all these stats you'll still have the dumbasses saying he sucks for not getting out of bounds yesterday.

He might be our number 2. Pj Williams has played 1 game in 2 years

You can not have a better complimentary group than Cooks, Thomas and Snead imo.

Just to compare to the guy he is supposed to be replacing:

2006 Colston's Rookie year 1st 6 games
REC: 27 YDS: 414 TD: 4

Here is a link I posted in a thread yesterday on Thomas. Also a link to a good Sheldon Rankins piece. I am very high on both of these young players.

Brees has his pass catchers until he retires. Thomas has been an amazing pick. If we had more like him regardless of position this rebuild would be going a lot smoother.

We had a few imo. Davison has beaten all expectations. Breaux looks to be a #1 on most teams.

We need to hit one out the park at pass rusher (again after Junior bent us over)

I think Kikaha would've been just what we needed. I don't think he is a great DE/Rush LB, but he provided just enough of a rush to take the chip blocks away from Cam last year

his catch % is superb for a rookie. 73.5 %

i know a lot of his receptions are on short or mid range routes but he's also the second highest targeted WR so far for the Saints.

49 targets... only Cooks is higher at 50 targets.

don't know if those numbers are right but that's what they have posted on profootball reference.
