How in the hell would NYC sports radio know about the inner goings-on of New Orleans sports?
i told them

New York Journalism isn't about and being correct or even accurate. Too much competition and too much profit at stake. Especially in something as shady to begin with as sportstalk.
You drop a bombshell, attribute it to "sources," and drop enough qualifiers like "possibly," "if" and "could" into your report that you can deny that you really said anything.

Not sure any team would be interested in Brees.
This might not just be his last year with the Saints...
it might be his last year in the NFL.
Man... you sure got hammered with downvotes for a potentially true statement

You dont think any team would be interested in Brees and he's going to retire from the NFL this year?

This isn't MLB. NFL teams don't acquire an aging star halfway through the season and ride him to a championship.
When is the last time an NFL player was acquired this late in the season and carried a team to the title? Deion Sanders in San Francisco?
The Jets took this road 8 years ago with Brett Favre and they were actually better with Mark Sanchez a year later.

Not to mention he isn't exactly 100% right now either.

I don't think any team would consider trading for brees.
He could absolutely consider retirement

It's just sports talk guys in NYC doing their thing. They didn't indicate that they thought any of these moves would happen during this season.
Once the season is over, IF Payton goes to the Dolphins, THEN the Jets might very well be interested in acquiring Brees.
It's just speculation. Nothing concrete.

The Jets have a good team and Fitzpatrick has been money in chan gaileys offense
They would be dumb to give anything for Brees
Really????

Espn just mentioned dolphins are interested in Payton also. The best thing the Saints could do is
#1 sit Brees the rest of the season. And let his arm fully heal he could have 1-2 good years left.
#2 Wholesale get rid of older players, Evans, colston, streif.
#3 focus on two monster offensive linemen for the draft
#4 fire Rob Ryan even though he hasn't been the cause of this debacle.

#5 The Saints are so bad without Brees that they finish 1-15 and get the first pick in the draft.
#6 Leonard Fournette says on live TV that he is going pro and the NCAA is forced to back down after the social media backlash.
Nullifying #3, of course.

Heard the same thing in DC radio. Three teams interested in brees. The teams were redskins,Texans and jets. There was two teams interested in a coach and Brees deal that was Texans and dolpins. Then there was the colts interested in a coach and Ingram deal. Plus the Longhorns interested in Payton.

Breesus....the numbers just don't work man
Eta: I'm not advocating trading brees. I want him on this team. But how in the world could we move him?

They'll know more than the local guys.
But then, who doesn't?

NCAA will hit their knees quicker than...
Well, you know.
If he wants to pro, he will.
