Well at least the run defense has looked good so far.

I saw the same issue I did last year as I did tonight and it wasn't a lack of pass rush. We got killed on quick passes. It was three step drops and out. And I know most of those guys were second and third stringers in the secondary but we have to do a better job of making the QB go to at least his second read.

I actually saw guys getting into the pocket but they had zero time to make a move around the block.

I also saw that the Texans are running an offense built around quick stop routes and those can be a bitch to defend. We clearly were not prepared for that kind of pass attack.

I can't put any blame on the pass rush. I don't think I saw their QBs hold the ball more than four seconds the whole game.

Thanks.

It's like people look at the stat line and not the game.

Now I will say last week was spotty pass rush wise and there were a few times Garappolo had too much time, but this week we didn't give the line a chance.

Also peeps must have missed a few times we got there and forced bad passes. There was some pressure despite the quick passes.

pass rush is definitely a concern going into this season...no denying that.

but there are a lot of factors that go into an effective pass rush...and everything else

...and pressures get the job done

This loss in preseason is a good thing. It gives them something very tangible to work on improving before we play Arizona. Palmer has built a decent enough career at winning the games the other teams let him win.

Yeah definitely not saying pass rush is fine and we have no concerns but it isn't a panic button issue either.

Between injuries, barely playing starters, and trying things to see what works we aren't getting a good picture.
