This really felt like a different style of draft for us. I really like what Ireland has brought to the table

2. New Orleans Saints
Score: 522 points (5 players)
The skinny: The Saints finish a distant second, but they did very well for themselves, joining the Browns and Steelers as the only teams to add five prospects from Brandt's top 100.
The players (points):
No. 4: Marshon Lattimore (147)
No. 19 Ryan Ramczyk (132)
No. 38: Marcus Williams (113)
No. 79: Alvin Kamara (72)
No. 93: Alex Anzalone (58)

They have changed damn near everything over the last two years. New scout team came in 2016. Sure enough, 2016 draft class is actually good. This draft class looks to be another one with nice picks.
Nick Underhill said there are about 10 total between defensive players, coaches, and front office left from 2014. Last season was the third year in a row going 7-9, but they were better than the two previous years. They are absolutely trending in the right direction. They will need good pass rush to become a legit contender again, though. Hopefully they found a gem. Playoff team? I like their chances.

The draft is a crap shoot. Sure there are many talented prospects and it is good to get excited over the future ,but we could have a bunch of heroes or zeros or a mix along with every other team. Articles have been saying that Jacksonville and Cleveland has had the best draft grades for the last few years and look where that has gotten them. To win in the NFL you need a Franchise QB and a good coach ,which less than half the league has, then some a few good players around which you hope the draft can provide. I hope we have more hits than misses this year ,but half of this draft class probably will not be on the roster in 3 years. People put too much emphasis on "winning the draft" when in reality the hope is to have maybe your first round draft pick be really good and a few solid starters out of the group.

So they are no. 2 because they drafted 5 guys from someone else's top 100? No other factors? Stupid.
