That is utterly ridiculous.

The NFL will probably send a cease-and-desist to the Vatican....

It's Obama's fault.

Seriously, I'd ask the same: Who really owns that trademark?

The NFL wasn't remotely interested in "Who dat?" when the Saints were 3-13. "Who dat" belongs to the Who Dat Nation and nobody else. Who dat say dey gonna steal our Who dat? Greedy NFL lawyers are gonna try but I say they better not start messin' with the Who Dat Nation. The people made the NFL a success and the people can take it away.

You can still sell Black and Gold Who Dat shirts - They just need to be licensed by the NFL.

You can sell who dat shirts in any other color scheme and not have to get that licensed by the NFL.

The NFL is saying that when you tie "Who Dat" into a New Orleans Saints themed shirt (with color scheme or otherwise) you need that shirt licensed. Just like you would be required to get licensed a purple and gold LSU shirt.

I fail to see what the story is here.

The problem is the money that the NFL wants a cut of shirts that say WHO DAT and are black and gold.

I dont give a chit if they are Black and gold or black and blue.

The NFL doesnt own the Who Dat ? No more that they own GO TIGERS!

So if I make a T-shirt that is white with a blue little horse (Colt) are they going to give me a secase and decist order to? Hell NO!

THey can kiss my arse!!

This is the kind of chit that makes me hate the NFL!

They sure didnt give a chit when we were 3-13!!

Please tell me where and how to order one. 'Cause I will.

THe NFL can suck it.

DUH!

You can't sell a purple shirt or anyshirt for that mater that says LSU

But you can sell one that says GO TIGERS! That is not owned by any entity.

They can't stop you from selling a shirt that says NEW ORLEANS that is in black and gold as long as it doesn't say SAINTS that is what the NFL owns.

I think that if you sell a shirt just as the one below (same font and color scheme) with just the words New Orleans - you may have some issues.

That's complete bullshite since the fluer de lis was the symbol of royal France and the City of New Orleans for 130 years before the NFL existed...

I would LOVE that lawsuit......

Don't be an idiot, threeputt.

LINK

Do you think those shirts should be licensed by the NFL?

Storyville got a cease and desist too.

Maybe Chicken should watch out--the color scheme of this section of the site is black and gold and sometimes there's a fleur-de-lis ad--sounds to me like the NFL needs a cut of this web site.

Also, we need to start referring to our team as the New Orleans Saints™ from now on as well I guess.
