You can say F Greg Williams all you want, but without him you have no super bowl win.

Works both ways. He hadnt won anything without the type of offense we had either.
The fact that he is now coaching in this league says alot.
His longest tenure as a Coordinator has been 3 years. He wears out his welcome quick or gets figured out.

The defense was the catalyst man in those playoff wins with the way they played. Brees was nervous as hell in those playoff games, especially against Minnesota and Farve in the NFCG. If it wasn't for the inspired play of the defense, Minnesota is probably going to that super bowl, but that defense just throttled the hell out of Farve that whole game. Look, Williams may not be liked by Payton and whoever else, but his defenses has always played with a passion and his players respect him everywhere he's been. You can say what you want about the guy, but he is a great and respected DC.

That's what you get with Gregg Williams. Feast or famine

I kinda disagree...
He has had great years in spurts but imo never sustainable. His players may like him and thats cool.
I dont disagree about the superbowl year. But the defense gets worse the longer he stays which kind of explains why he doesnt stay anywhere.
Great defensive coaches are not coaching in these types of leagues.
I do appreciate the time he gave us somewhat but its hard to resepect a guy throwing everyone under a bus for a system he used and the whole team was punished for.
Great coaches are consistent. He was never that

Looking at the players I don’t understand how we won a SB that defense was terrible talent wise lol.
We had guys like Scott Shanle starting

Scott Shanle wasn't as bad as everyone is acting like he was.
Posted on 6/10/22 at 12:54 pm to Marrero
Shanle was actually a very steady LB. He never was going to be an all pro or wow you athletically but he was very smart at understanding what offenses were trying to do and knew how to get to the ball. You could have done a lot worse than a starting group of Vilma, Fujita and Shanle.

Yaven Zarilian says don't forget me! He was outstanding. And add Steve Sidwell ,coach of the Dome Patrol

As long as Jim stays away from the cheerleaders this unit is good for a playoff win.

Shanle was one of the major reasons THE interception was thrown. Williams realized that Shanle couldnt cover the TE in man, and made the correction to have Shanle blitz almost every down. The constant pressure wore down their O-line and Manning had to start making faster choices with the ball.

Without him calling a cover 0 while we were getting destroyed by SF using some simplistic arse exploits, we probably go to the super bowl too…
