Most improved 2nd year OT's per PFF:

1) Ereck Flowers (NYG):
2015: 32.5 , 2016: 48.4 = +15.9

2) Andrus Peat (NO):
2015: 55.2 , 2016: 69.8 = +14.6

Peat gets so much undeserved shite here it's remarkable. I do hope they leave him at guard and let he and armstead lock up the left side.

Meh, that criticism has died down over the last couple of months. You can't deny though that he was abysmal at times in the beginning of the year and last season. He's definitely taken a turn for the better though and he'll be a stalwart in the line for years to come, definitely glad we nailed one pick at least. I'm still trying to fathom how Stephone Anthony is so bad.

He's gonna jump another 14.6 this season.

Remember, he came in young and not in optimal shape. Gonna break out this season.

PROJECT PEAT!!!

He was better at the beginning of the year than he was at the end of the year...he was great at the beginning

Yeah I was always under the impression he was going to take a little longer to get ready. Doesn't mean I agree with the pick that high, but in general thought this was the idea behind him. Hopefully it works out now that we are going into year 3. Agree with him and Armstead holding down the left side. Would be huge for Brees.

At least he's way better than Flowers who was 4 picks in front of him. That guy is a GM's nightmare

I think it's because we picked him instead of a defensive player, but Peat sure came in handy this past season.

The reason for this is because he has had to play basically everywhere on the offensive line, due to management being awful and not addressing this. He shouldn't have to worry about plying RG and then LG and then LT and then play RT....that is asking way too much from anyone. Hopefully they address G in FA, the one true hole on offense with Evans on his last legs. Peat has pro-bowl potential.

I still think he ends up at tackle in the end. Strief might be coming to the end of the rope in the next year or so. It would be nice to be able to inset Peat...

If they can stay healthy, a trio of Armstead, Peat, and Unger on the left is just nasty. That's a lot of beef, especially in the running game.

If Strief can play anywhere near his 2016 level, we are in good shape if we can get 1 above average G and some depth (love Kelemete as depth)

Pro Bowl peat. Happy he's been a lot more consistent last year even having to play both guard and tackle.

I think he stays at guard again this season and stays there for many years to come.

Maybe is a game situation you may slide him out, but I think that he will learn the combo blocks and possible pulls from the guard position.

Agree with all of that.

another thing I found interesting was an interview Richie Incognito gave on Colin Cowherd. He feels like the limited practice time under the collective bargaining agreement disrupts young O-linemens development.

you can find the interview on Cowherd's Youtube channel. I think its better to go cherry pick interviews off of his show then sit through a whole show and listen to him just try and bait people half of the time.

I've watched a few interviews he's done off that channel and they are actually interesting... well some of them.

just depends I guess.

oh what the hell, here is the interview with Incognito I was talking about. Might as well link it since I brought it up
