Triplett has a current best draft pick at every position and mentioned that Morstead is now second ALLTIME in career punting average and net punting average. He's built a nice career and of course will be immortalized for 'Ambush'. Mentioning it cuz it was one of the greatest groans during a Payton era draft. And one that prolly the most peeps had to eat crow on. Not just that they drafted a punter, but that traded picks to move up and get him in the 5th Rd. The memory is clear cuz I thought they were absolutely trading to get Rashad Jennings (wouldn't have been bad either). A good cautionary tale to remember on draft day before going too nuts on which of your favorites they passed on.

Lifetime Punting Avg.

lemme get this straight: the top 1-18 punters of ALL-TIME are all active players?

and you are applauding wasting picks (with an "s") to get one of those 18 guys?

You very much overlooked that he was second all time in net, which is the main stat for a punter.

It's also not shown on that website so I'm wondering where blues saw that.

Somebody drafted a punter in the 3rd round.

For what it is, 5th round and later picks have a VERY small attach rate in the nfl. We drafted one of the best punters in history (and definite top 3 of this generation).

For a pick with a small attach rate would could have done MUCH worse.

Wasn't that the Colts? Edit: Was thinking about Angerer. It was the Jags. Jags gonna Jag I guess.

Still not as bad as kicker in the second. Or in the first...

I know broski. I know.

At least ours lasted a few years, as a punter.
