The difference is defense. They play better defense than us. All of our failures can be blamed on defense. We have been a complete joke ever since 2012. It seems like each passing year we get worse. Which is mind boggling because each year they break some kind of historically bad record.

Meanwhile, Green Bay has everyone on IR and they are still playing decent enough to win games. Now look at the Saints defense this season, 16 games, we have not stopped a single team. Every team, no matter how terrible, has done whatever they wanted. Pair the Packers offense with our defense, they ain't winning more than 6 games. I don't care how good Rodgers is.

You didn't watch this football season. The D collapsed down the stretch but in the middle of the season from week 4 to week 10ish our defense was more than serviceable.

The Packers have a QB that can literally carry their team. He may be the best ever and is certainly head and shoulders above tom brady. They also don't have kick returned for a TD every week

It boils down to schematical game planning on the defensive side of the ball. Dom Capers is a better DC than any of ones the Saints have had over the last few years. His game plan today that allowed the Packers to limit what the Cowboys wanted to do in the 1st half is what ultimately allowed Green Bay to win the game. I think Dennis Allen did a fairly good job this season especially considering all the injuries to the secondary but some of his game plans to start out games weren't great. He deserves credit for second half adjustments but at the same time, some of the plays the defense allowed in the first half of games, would cost the team down the stretch.

What is it about Green Bay's offense that can make the playoffs and win and we can't?

It's their defense.

Rodgers is the best qb in the nfl despite whats around him, thats the main difference. That and their defense is slightly better. Im not sure mccarthy is even that good of a coach

Packers have a real GM and McCarthy is held accountable when his team under-performs.

not Paytom vs McCarthy, more the failure of Loomis vs. Thompson

I think the Packers do a lot of what they do in spite of Mccarthy. Just like csp he gets away from running /waaaay too cute with sub packages. The 0ackers give up 4 points less per game. That probably wins us 2 or 3 games this year .

In fairness, Mc is using a WR for a running back.....so, I assume this has a lot to do with their running game?

You know something that glared out at me watching this game today (and past GB games come to think of it)? Their receivers WORK to get open when Rodgers is in scramble mode. They do a better job of it, overall, than our guys do. Rodgers' pocket presence and overall field awareness is mind boggling.

well that's is coaching, coaching, coaching, with a little game planning for the unexpected thrown in then ad more coaching, coaching, coaching.

so in a nutshell - total lack of "good" game planning and preparation and half hearted coaching desire to make your team better through preparation to overcome talent deficiencies

Precisely why McCarthy and the Packers are far better. They CARE about a competing Defense! CSP apparently can not figure anything on the defensive side of the ball. He's the one in charge and it's a constant.

FIFY. For the umpteenth millionth time, Payton has final say over the roster. He picks the players, it's Loomis' job to make it work financially. Lately, they've both sucked at their jobs.
