Not even close the best offense was 2009 we actually could run the ball and called a balance game

Compare the 2016 player to their 2009 counterpart

Cooks > Henderson
Snead = Moore
Thomas < Colston
Coleman <<< Meachem

I think it's almost a draw until get to #4. Meachem was a 2nd home run threat to go with Devery Henderson. The Saints only have one true vertical receiver in the bunch right now, although Thomas has a chance.

TE's included? In any case, 2011, we had a TE no. 1 and a rb no. 3. Rest of WR's were like 500 and 600 yard guys.

We ran for more yards in 2011 and more ypc than any other year I believe.

Well and that Colston guy was decent. But this offense has been at it's best with 2 vertical threats

2011 had every single WR 2009 had and another dominant OL.

The difference being we had massive upgrades at TE and RB.

2011 had Ivory over Mike Bell, Sproles over Bush, and Jimmy's career year over Shockey.

2011 Saints Offense should only be compared to 2007 Pats, 2013 Broncos, and the Greatest Show on Turf.

2011 was one of the greatest offenses I have ever seen of any team.

As to our current WR's they are good but the best part is how damn young they are. Only going to get better from here on.

this times infinity

2011 was the best offense in saints history.

It was basically the 2009 team except you have Jimmy Graham imstead of Shockey and Darren Sproles instead of Reggie.

If we're strictly talking WRs I think this is the best group in team history.

I feel like even though Colston, Henderson, Meachem and Moore were 4 deep, none of them were diverse. They all played one role. Our current group, all three of Thomas, Cooks and Snead, can play just about any receiving role. We've seen all of them go deep, we've seen all of them catch screens, outs, slants, etc. They're very diverse.

It's at the point where they must be ridiculously difficult to gameplan for. Who do you defend? You have no idea who is going to do what on any given play.

I think overall as an offense I would take 2011 over this team just because the element of Sproles out of the backfield can never really be replicated. But they're damn close.

It's just projections as of now, but the Saints have 3 WRs on pace for 1k+ yards

I know Brees airs it out more than anyone, but that is insanely impressive. All very young guys, all very complimentary of one another. That position is set for a long time.

I think everyone is forgetting how good Moore was. I'd say he and Snead are equal at this point.

I think 2011 is a little better just because of Coleman compared to Meachem. Now if you theow in Graham, Sproles and PT, then 2011 is way better than Fleener and Cadet.

I'm a big fan of Moore. He was super reliable, but Snead is a more impressive player. They are definitely comparable in play-style, but Snead is more physical. Although Snead is basically our #3 WR, he's much more of a #2. Moore was a quality #3 type that the Saints often used as a #2.

I agree that the 2011 offense was better, though. Graham wasn't just playing at an elite TE level, but also an elite WR level. Colston has WR1 numbers (1100+ yards 8 TDs). Sproles was amazing. PT was his usual dependable self. Henderson with 500+ yards, Moore with 600+ and Meachem with 600+. They were the most balanced offense I've ever seen.
