per Saints app
Played at 210 last year and is now 220. Reportedly has not lost a bit of speed either. Ship.

NOW, GUARD THIS: First things first: Second-year receiver Michael Thomas(@cantguardmike on Twitter) has put on muscle (6 feet 3 and 220 pounds, up from the 210 that he finished with last season) and hasn't sacrificed speed, quickness or anything else. Second, he's still honing his craft. "Just finishing my routes, being a technician, getting perfect depth, being in the right place at the right time, using my eyes better, visualizing the coverage pre-snap better - stuff like that," he said. Third, after setting franchise rookie records for receptions (92), receiving yards (1,137) and receiving touchdowns (nine), he's as hungry as ever. "I want to be one of the best to ever play the game, so I put a lot of pressure on myself just because coming from a family that played in the NFL (his uncle is Keyshawn Johnson), and then being the guy now, I want to take advantage of my opportunity."

We sure have a talent for finding WR's.

Glad to see he is continuing to work hard and not let his early success get to his head. He's already a monster and has so much length that he can still improve physically.

Not saying he will be, but he has the potential to be a Julio/AJ Green level WR. I personally think he will end up being top 5 at his position. You could see as early as pre season last year that he is a special player.

How did I not know this? You'd think this would be overused like "played basketball in college".

they always say this
10lbs is a lot. Physics will say he has sacrificed some of the above.
He was fine at 210

The biggest factor is where that weight is being distributed. He's lanky so if it's good weight from gaining muscle in his lower body it will likely translate into his game positively. If it's bad weight from a shitty diet going to his gut it will obviously have the opposite effect.

its likely a little of both. You dont gain 10lbs in a few months without adding some fat.
will affect speed/COD/explosiveness
He was a 4.57 guy to begin with so he is playing with fire. My god i hope i am wrong

That was a sick burn!

If he was going from 220 to 230 I'd agree but I still think with his build he could stand to gain 10-15 lbs without losing speed if it's lean muscle. But you're right, we'll just have to wait and see and worst case scenario he could probably lose the excess weight in camp if necessary.

His build and frame needed 10lbs. He's not a super fast wr, but neither was colston who won with technique and timing. As long as it's not Kelvin Benjamin size, he will be fine.
AJ Green was 210lbs and ran a 4.5. There were reports years ago he hired a personal cook to help him gain healthy weight. I'm sure he's playing 220-30

Dumb. 4.5 at his size isn't bad at all.
