There are not 11 players in this draft better than Butler and it's a position of need for the Saints.

That said, they would absolutely miss on a pass rusher which they can't afford to do

It would be a no-brainer if the Saints had signed a good pass rusher in free agency, but they didn't.

if that happened, the Saints still wouldn't/shouldn't give up 11 for Butler

all of them aren't 27 years old and in need of a big contract

Teams have taken players from the Patriots and have had success in doing so. But believe whatever you want.

Jamie Collins also has continued to be a solid LB for the Browns after his trade from New England.

The "players don't succeed outside of NE" narrative is almost as annoying as the "32nd overall is basically a 2nd round pick" narrative. No it's not and stop saying that

The DBs acquired by the Saints in the off-season usually don't forget that memo.

So that means we should never attempt to acquire talent ever again. Solid plan

Every team misses on guys. That's not mutually exclusive to us

Micheal Lombardi is not a reporter. He's out to make headlines.

Using a #11 pick and devoting 10 million or more cap money would be dumb.

Think about who you could draft with that pick and what FAs you could bring in with that cap money.

It's not just about the draft pick, it's about the cap money too.

If the Saints wanted to give up their 11th pick they would have just signed Butler while he was in NOLA instead of waiting and trading for Butler.

Lombardi is a tool and obviously doesn't want the Pats to get rid of Butler

and the saints wanted #5 AND #18 for the Titans to get cooks and our #11

funny how "want" has no connection to what you can get

if we were willing to give up #11 we would have just outright signed butler while he was here so no this BS is some drunk "or high" idiot spouting off BS

If NO were willing to give up #11 for Butler, this would already be a done deal
