Wrong holiday, bud. Memorial Day is for those that have died serving.

While true, I consider Memorial Day very much like Veteran's Day. While I never had to endure seeing another soldier die in combat, you'd be wise to listen to those that have had. You'll hear many stories about how easily it could have been them instead.

I was only a weekend warrior in my days, but I salute all that served, alive and dead.

You don't think as a vet he may have an appreciation for the meaning of Memorial Day either directly or indirectly?

That is why we have veterans day and Memorial day is in memory of the fallen comrades. Any service member should know and don't be that guy...

I understand that I physically survived Iraq two times , but you have no Idea what I went through mentally and emotionally. Everyone who went to war, sacrificed something; their families left behind sacrificed something; I commend them all to the fullest. I lost close friends at war and their families are left behind; and I thank them for sacrificing their lives; I'm blessed to have made it back from war twice, everyone can't say that. For everyone who has sacrificed something; whether family of fallen soldiers or fallen soldiers; Happy Memorial Day.
