Andre Johnson and Anquan Boldin recently found new NFL homes in Nashville and Detroit, respectively. Might Marques Colston be the next veteran free agent to be signed after a silent offseason?
The New Orleans Saints' all-time leader in receptions (711), receiving yards (9,759) and receiving touchdowns (72) intends to continue his football career once he's fully recovered from postseason shoulder surgery.
"Once I'm done with rehab," Colston said this week, via PennLive.com, "I'll see what's out there."
The 33-year-old added that there's "no rush" to find a new team, suggesting he won't sign before training camps end.
Although Colston was released with a failed physical designation after posting career lows in receptions (45), yards (520) and touchdowns (4) over 13 games last season, he has no hard feelings about the Saints organization.
"I had a great experience down there for a decade," Colston explained. "I know it's a business, and there are no hard feelings."
If Colston fails to generate interest once the season starts, he won't lack for post-career opportunities.
His off-the-field ventures include part ownership of the Arena Football League's Philadelphia Soul and a position as special adviser for Sport Testing Inc., a company designed to track a professional athletes' strengths and weaknesses in all aspects of any sport.

Will probably sign with the patriots

A part of me wants him to retire because I just can't see him in another uniform! Probably my favorite Saint of all time

I'd welcome him back if he's able to produce. You could do worse with a #4wr

I hope he hits the 10k mark

As would I. Brandon Coleman wouldn't though.

Colston is one of the toughest football players I've ever watched play.

Brandon Coleman is terrible. He won't make the roster. Dude has had more than his share of opportunities to prove himself and all he's proven is that he looks like Tarzan, plays like Jane.
He's 6'6" and plays like he's 5'8", only he's not shifty.

Would not surprise anyone if he ended up back here.

He's the least "diva-ish" GOOD wide receiver in NFL history.

I'd be the last person to complain about seeing a healthy Colston in a Saints jersey.

I'm not going to lie... I'd like him to retire a saint. I don't think there's any doubt he'd be more productive than Coleman next year, either. I want him to stay in New Orleans, play one more year, retire, and cover saints games with stinch and Joel Myers. Is that too much to ask?

That dude is going to the highest bidder.
Love the guys career, but those arms got shorter and shorter over the last few years and those fumbles, lol. Take the bad w the good I guess.
Can he stay healthy?

I'd take Colston as our #4 all day. Then you have Coleman, RJ Harris, & Tommylee Lewis battling for the #5 spot. I really liked what I saw from Lewis in that 1st preseason game. I'm not sure if this has been discussed, but does Lewis return kicks?
Cooks, Snead, Thomas, Colston, Fleener as your 5 wide is pretty beast mode. You also have Josh Hill as well.
Cadet in the backfield would be nice as well in that 5 wide.

Maybe, but, can you say that for all 31 other teams?

colston is one of my all time favorites....but he's done. The past 2 seasons he's just looked busted up and slow.
